Debatable call I made in a game today

Playing a normal pickup game today at a playground in stamford , Ct. 4v4. I dish to a kid going base line that goes for a reverse. A huge black kid challanges and gets the block but they both are holding the bal when their feet come down out of bounds. Of course a bunch of ppl claim posession and i say jump. I say " both players had posession and its a held ball . Of course everyone dosagrees and the ball goes the other way. I am pretty sure i am right here. Does anyone know the rule? The kid clearly stops the shot but they both have a hand on the ball as they land out of bounds.

I agree that the ball should be shot for. The reason it should be pointed out that the player who blocked it was black is because he large, athletic, and black . On a street basketball court , black kids will always attempt to intimidate white players . I stood by my call but lost. There is t anything racist about t, its how it is. I accept that. People dont complain about going to synagouges and seeing jewish people, so why care about streetball and black kids?


Ive played ball my whole life a d whats true is true. Black kids at the court wont take you seriously until you hit some shots or ake the ball to the rim. Thats irrelavant to the comvo though.

Well the whole black thing has NOTHING to do with it, if you can ball you get respect at least here in LA you do. As far as the call, well seems they meet at the apex and both land out of bounds. In streetball rules it's a "shoot for it" as somebody said earlier, anything other than that just holds up the game or one side is trying to cheat to stay on the court at all cost.

Well if it's a pick up game - let them fight it out till one comes up with the ball - then play on.

Sometimes it's simply the bigger guy who wins, sometimes that loopy guy who plays way too hard, sometimes two evenly matched foes wrestling for 5 minutes. Either way it's good entertainment.
