For approximately the same reasons Adam Morrison averaged 27 MPG his rookie season. Rivers is a moderately high draft pick, and he needs burn to prove if he was worth it.

Believe it or not, Xavier Henry really is that bad. This will most likely be his last season in the NBA.

Rivers is getting this much time because Gordon is hurt and because Roger Mason isn't any good either. Our SG production has been horrible thus far and I guess we're hoping that he eventually pulls things together. He actually has been playing a little bit better lately, but still pretty bad. We're going to stick with him until he completely proves he was not worth the #10 pick. A lot of rookies struggle early. It's a little too early to cast judgement on someone's career before even December.
