Put back dunk attempt. If Matthews hadn't been there, it would have worked. Alas.

Only two Cavaliers had a positive +/- last night, and they played a whopping 23 minutes combined. +/- needs context to be useful.

Dion Waiters January stats (8 games)
16.9ppg (45.9%/36.4%/87.1%)

props to Cleveland scouts for reaching on Waiters. He shows he has potential to be deadly. Also Beal is starting to hit his shots lately.

Now they just need to figure out what they're going to do with Monta and Ilyasova, add some depth, and build around those two and Jennings; unless they don't like Jennings? I don't really watch enough Bucks games to know if he's a "PG of the future" type player for them, but I'm not really sure what other options they have.

I'm a UNC fan, so I knew this about Henson, but he finishes even better with his "weak" hand (left) around the basket than his right hand. That ability to finish so well with either hand around the basket, and his insane length, will make him a very solid pro; especially after he adds some weight and polishes his back to the basket game.

I wish we could draft MCW, but he'll be long gone. I'd like to have a backcourt where either Jennings or Ellis come off the bench, but neither one would like that. I do like Phil Pressey even given his size. The Bucks need a starting guard who doesn't think shoot first. MCW would be a great pairing with Ellis at starting guards.

Waiters' finger roll is beautiful. Great highlights.

I think him and Beal are both poised to have very good careers.

Are Cavs fans comfortable going forward with Zeller as their starting center? Was probably fairly close to a finished product coming out of college due to being a four year player -- granted he missed almost all of his freshman season and a big chunk of his sophomore season with injuries, or he probably would've left sooner. He's averaging 8-7-2 in January but his FG% is really bad, even or a guard.

Anyway, are Cavs fans comfortable going forward with a starting lineup of Irvin-Waiters-Thompson-Zeller and whatever SF they can get?

not to get too far off topic but I think Casspi has the talent to be that sf. He has Ginobli-like potential but he hasnt been playing his best. If he plays smarter and keeps working he could work.

Waiters lookin very smooth going to the basket. Good body control to avoid defenders.

I just do not see it. Casspi is a spot up shooter with limited handles that plays average defense at best.

This team is nowhere close to a finished product and the team still has boatloads of cap space and picks. Zeller has potential, but he definitely needs to hit the weight room at the moment he probably would be a better player at PF.

This, +100.

Casspi is 8th-9th man in the rotation at best, and that's assuming he's shooting close to 40% from the 3.

Zeller defense leaves alot to be desired btw, so I doubt the Cavs should seriously build on him as anything other then a 3rd big off the bench long term.

With TT being a role player aswell, they're gonna have to have a dominant center either by draft or trade if they are to make any real noise imo.

Zellers problem is that he just isn't strong enough right now. I do think that he can improve defensively however. His strength issue is huge though.

i can definitely see the rodney stuckey comparison's but Waiters seems to be more creative around the rim . he has the same sort of big guard body. Still think the Cav's reached, but he looks to be at worst a decent starter in the league

I'm just saying Jimmer was guarding him in the 4th and the Kings seemed to not have adjusted to guarding the pick and roll with him.

Would rather see him as the first big off the bench.
