How do you know it's the 12th worst? 186th is pretty bad but I'm wondering if you have access to the whole rankings of synergy?

speaking as a Blazer fan who went through the Greg Oden ordeal, I wouldn't be happy about Drummond carrying more weight rather then less. Those extra pounds add a lot of stress and impact to the knees and lower body on every step, and especially every time he jumps and lands

body mass does not necessarily equal core strength. Especially not for a guy as young as Drummond.

I think he can handle it with his build.

Mlive.com-
"Genetically gifted, body wise," Kander said on DetroitPistons.com. "What I love is the lower extremity body structure – big hips, big thighs. Kids that are big in the upper body but have smaller bases, a little more fragile. Things can go wrong. When you start off with a great foundation – like a house, you build from the basement up – he has it."

I'd be surprised if he was at 297 now, he specifically said he'd dropped weight to be a little faster than when he was at UConn (where he was about mid-290s). He doesn't look any bigger, but who knows, it's possible. I kind of think someone was maybe having some dyscalculia 279--->297. Either way he carries it well. He's got some tree stumps for legs (and they're both the same length) so I don't think the Oden concerns should weigh too heavily on folks.

Didn't Yao have a great foundation too?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Actually Yao broke his left ankle twice over the span of a couple years before he even reached the NBA and some have claimed it was treated incorrectly.

Then he played through injury/came back too early/played lots of minutes when he got hurt again in the NBA.

Beal versus Lillard tonight, should be a good game.

The fundamental difference between Drummond and Oden is that Oden put on a lot of upper body weight after he injured his knee the first time, while Drummond has always had massive legs. His lower body is accustomed to the weight and is part of the reason he weighs so much to begin with.

Oden has thin calves/legs -

Drummond at 17 years old -

His frame is built to handle weight.

Drummond against the Celtics was absolutely filthy.

Drummond is now up to 10th in the league in offensive rating. He's also 6th in defensive rating. Only player in the league in top 10 in both.

idk, but when you have Tyson Chandler at the top of any offensive statistical ratings list, imo doesn't really hold a lot of weight

My dream draft of Lillard/Drummond would have been so great. I've been saying Drummond has a chance to be the best player in the draft to people for years and still believed it after his college season. Happy to see him doing so well so early, but I really wish we managed to get him instead of Leonard. Can't complain about Lillard though.

It certainly needs to be put into context. Drummond is NOT a top 10 offensive player, not even close.

That however is a good indication that he's succeeding where he needs to atm.

Drummond doesn't look 297 at all. He actually looks less than the 279 or whatever he was at. He looks way more active and energetic than he was last year.

I missed the Hornets game tonight, but Davis was 5-7 for 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks and one steal in 15 minutes. He had no turnovers and no fouls, I guess it was because Ryan Anderson was 7-14 from downtown that they kept him out :dontknow:

At about 2:50 in this video he says he's at 270 after losing 22 pounds. That would have put him in the 290s at UConn. He weighed 279 (7.5% body fat) at the predraft camp, so who knows, maybe he put a lot of that weight back on. Either way, dude is unreal.

And it's pretty funny to see how pissed he gets when people bring up his motor and all that in the predraft interviews. #redflags #characterissues

Maybe Drummond has been doing different core excercises which increased his weight but made him look more well shaped as well

Beal vs Lillard... turned out to be a stinker. 2-17 shooting between the 2 of them so far.
