Don't count him out yet, he's just getting warmed up and is actually healthy for the first time since his rookie year when he led the league in 30+/10+ games. Also, the Warriors are winning, so maybe they might get recognition for once.

With that said, still too many good guards in the West.

He's in a very difficult spot, right now Lee would go before him and Warriors dont deserve two All Stars.

David Lee never strikes me as an all-star. Even when he has good games I don't really get impressed, lol. He scored 31 points on 86% FG shooting against the Nuggets one game and it was still whatever to me haha.

I need to stop taking him for granted, though. Even though he doesn't really stand out to me he's still a big factor in the Warriors' success so far.

Did they lead teams to a playoff spot when midway through?

Cause so far Harden is. If Houston drops out of the playoff spot by that time i'll be with you.

Basically the OPs selections with Tim Duncan replacing Randolph and Holiday replacing Ellis.

Agreed, get the guy out of there. unwatchable

this guy and the people saying Blake doesn't deserve to start are pure joke posters

Blake Griffin is putting up similiar number as Z-Bo while being a better improved defender and being a better playmaker for his team. Griffin is also coming off two off season injuries that he is finally healing up from and is playing 4 less mintues per game and sometimes not playing late because the bench blows leads open like against Dallas Mavericks. The fact Griffin is on par with Z-Bo while playing less time is a strong sign and the rebounding and scoring has been picking up as of late.

Randolph deserves to be an all-star but Blake derserves it just as much.

15.6/2.8/3.8/.2 on .406 shooting with a 12.67 PER are nowhere near all star numbers, a strong argument can be made he has been the worst starter on the nets so far

Joe didn't deserve to be on the all star team for the past 2 years. Coaches love him tho so I can see him being one again.

I think if one of the all but in PG's hurt themselves, Lillard could actually make it. He has to be considered next tier. doesn't he?

He's probably in the same bracket as guys like Curry and Mayo. Having a good season, but SOL unless someone more likely to be on the team gets hurt (and even then, I don't think Stern would choose Lillard as a replacement).

Better than Howard/Griffin too. Best big man in the western conference thus far.

He should start at PF. How does Griffen have more fans than 4 time champ Duncan.

Duncan plays in a small market and is probably the least controversial player in the nba.

Really hope Lopez gets the nod in the East. He's on a top 3 team and arguably the most important player. He's been playing great ball and deserves it over guys like Horford, Monroe, and Chandler.

Lebron James/Paul Pierce/Luol Deng
Carmelo Anthony/Al Horford
Chris Bosh/Anderson Varejao/Brook Lopez

Had trouble with the centers in the East. Tyson Chandler and Joakim Noah could be there.

I'm really confused as to how Kevin Love: 19.4 / 14.4 / 2.5 / .464 TS% / 34.4 MPG who has played 8 games on an 8-9 team and LaMarcus Aldridge 20.7 / 8.0. / 2.6 / .501 TS% / 38.5 MPG on an 8-11 team RIGHT NOW deserve the All-Star spot over Blake Griffin 17.6 / 9.1 / 3.2 / .545 TS% / 32.9 MPG on a 12-6 team.

I'm going to assume it is because people always get stuck on raw numbers and don't look at minutes, efficiency, etc. Per 36:
Blake: 19.2 / 10.0 / 3.5 / 20.2 PER
Aldridge: 19.3 / 7.5 / 2.4 / 18.3 PER
Love: 20.3 / 15.1 / 2.5 / 19.9 PER

Love has the 2nd lowest Drtg on his team and is 4.3 below the team, Blake is tied for 2nd lowest on his team and is 3.2 below the team, Aldridge is tied for third lowest in the team, and is 0.9 below the team. So it certainly isn't because of bad defense, and the eye test confirms that he's a much improved defensive player. So what is the reasoning? I'm not here saying there's no one above Blake, eg: Zach Randolph, but I'm just curious as to why two guys on inferior teams without better production are ranked over him outside of just not wanting to like Blake or given him any props.

There's no PF anymore, and even if thre was, hasn't Duncan officially been crowned as a C now? Starting is not that big a deal, Duncan will be in there, starting spots are just to make us as fans feel important.

For comparison in the above post, per 36:
Randolph: 17.3 / 13.0 / 1.4 / .541 TS% / 20.3 PER
-3rd lowest DRtg on team, 1.1 below team

F B. Griffinp SF is easy with Anthony, and Horford gets the backup PF spot as the best player on a strong Hawks team. Vaerjao's numbers make him an easy choice for backup center, despite his team's poor record.

The las

This would be different if not trying to keep positions balanced. I don't think I have to explain Paul, Kobe, Durant or Z-Bo given their level of play this season and their team's records.

Dwight's numbers are stronger than Duncan's, but Duncan is the best player on a better team. So Dwight gets the backup spot. At backup SG, I give OJ Mayo the nod over James Harden, where Mayo's team is doing a touch worse, but Mayo is having to do even more than Harden, overall, and is playing more efficiently. I give Parker the nod over Russell Westbrook at backup PG given Parker's higher level of efficiency, fewer minutes and equivalent team records. Backup PF was a hard choice between Griffin and Lee, and I give the nod to Lee due to marginally better numbers and getting representation for what is currently a playoff team.

There isn't much competition at backup SF - Gay gets the nod because there's no non-Durant SF in the West that's clearly better than him, and he's on the best team of the guys who could be in contention.

Last two spots... I give Harden the edge over Westbrook in the runners up to the backup spots. Harden's numbers are better, albeit on a worse team. But Westbrook has support from not just Durant but also Ibaka, Kevin Martin, etc. I give Griffin the edge over guys like Kevin Love (great rebounding but not much else so far this season), Aldridge (team coming apart), Marc Gasol (position issue, would be 3rd guy from Grizz and that's too much).
=.

A lot of thought but Westbrook is in no question ask. So is Parker due to senority and how well the Spurs still are. The last guard spot is going to come down to

James Harden
OJ Mayo
Stephen CUrry

as of right now i'd give it to Curry , because his team has the better record, but everything subject to change depend on how all their teams do because their stats are very similar

Curry 19/4 /6
Mayo 20/4/4
Harde4n 23/4/5
OJ Mayo , Michael Jordan , Allen Iverson.
