That's true. Here are the three MVP candidates turnovers per game: 3.2, 2.7, 2.7

Well they're not. I think Durant still played well, but not as otherworldly as his shooting numbers might suggest. He's played otherworldly games before, in which he shot the ball well and didn't turn it over.

1) Carmelo
2) Durant
3) LeBron

Obviously i'm biased towards Durant, but at this point I don't even think he'd win the MVP right now

I made the switch before the game. Just think if there was a vote right now theres more hype surrounding Melo and the Knicks than Durant and the Thunder.

Obviously its still early, most people won't even notice the NBA is going on until after football is finished.

Fair, although honestly the hype will die down because it's so early.

Looking forward to a Melo-KD regular season showdowns though similarly to how I looked forward to the Lebron-KD regular season showdowns last season!

It's gonna be great because it will be later in the season (first meeting March 7th) and the Knicks (lord willing) will be healthy with Shumpert and Amare back.

Ya only two games between NY and OKC are in March and April, both nationally televised on TNT and ABC. Those games could sway a lot of votes

Right. So I don't know why everyone is talking stats. Team wins will decide it. Melo has good enough stats that even though durant and bron have better stats team record will decide it.

Refs seem to be giving Durant as many free throws as they can. 14 is high.

They still need to be mentioned if someone takes the time to look at his stat-line and post it. whichever way you spin it 6 TOs are negative and should be mentioned in one's statline - not that it automatically makes his performance bad cause it surely wasn't - but "conveniently" not giving the full stat-line is pretty lame imo.

Team wins is important, but so are individual stats.

If Melo was averaging 22 a game and the Knicks still had this record, would we still be talking about him in the same light?

Durant is number one for me. His efficiency this season as a wing player is damn incredible.

Its reaching prime Adrian Dantley levels.

.65% and his team is on a 10 game winning streak, with career highs in FG%, 3P%, boards, assists, steals and blocks.

OKC also have the best record in the league.

For me, its:

KD
Melo
Lebron

Anyone else is irrelevant.

I feel this is Durant's to lose. He's looking like a rich man's Larry Bird at times.

I think his point was a fair one. To win a 4th MVP in 5 years, he might have to do something special. Ardee called lebron the best player . . . so I'm not sure why you're going after him. (hope I don't get banned for posting that). Heat fan moderators are like refs. They play favorites.

Calm down. I'm saying the voters will want more then what he's already doing, which is a typical LeBron season. Of course, a typical LeBron season is usually good enough to be the best player in the league, but it's all about narrative when it comes to MVP voting.

than voters are insane but now mvp is more about story than actual production (see Rose 2011)
