I refuse to believe they'll miss out, as much as I hope they do.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

at halftime tonight:
Kobe: 16 points, 7/10 FG
Rest of team: 23 points, 7/25
Lakers losing by 15.
This has been a trend this season. I know blaming Kobe is a popular thing to do around these parts, but he's been playing very good basketball this year. When he passes 30 points it's going to be his fault if they lose, right? Defense is a team concept and the breakdowns have been from all over the floor. I don't know why all of a sudden Kobe gets the full weight of the blame for their defensive troubles.
he never gets blamed

This team is horrible. They do not communicate on any side of the ball. The Cavs played horrible tonight and still beat them.

Nope
Aside from that Dallas game they've not had a single moment this season where they have looked like a legitimate playoff team. Nash keeps suffering "setbacks", Pau is more or less done, Kobe is logging huge minutes and will be out of gas come April and Dwight looks like he doesn't care.
They have no draft picks or young talent so a beneficial trade is likely out of the question.

The Lakers Biggest Problem?
There have been tons of reasons thrown around to the Lakers very dissappointing start. Bench scoring, free throw shooting, chemistry, not having Nash, though the last two may be put in the same group. Which one do you feel is the Lakers most hurting. For me it's free throw shooting and handling the Hack-A-Dwight strategy followed by bench scoring. I just don't get how Nash can make as much of a difference as he's made out to be. He's surely not gonna help them on D, and even on offense, I don't see him being some sort of savior.

It's alot of fun watching this lakers "team" be so pathetic. They will be lucky to squeeze into the 8.

Re: The Lakers Biggest Problem?
Their roster
Without Nash they have no PG and Kobe is forced to be the sole playmaker..while also being their sole offensive threat late and is also the only one who can make free throws at a good clip.
I'll never understand how people don't realize how much extra effort it puts on a guy like Kobe or Harden to have to shoulder the playmaking while also being the main offensive option..people act like Harden is any different of a player than he was last year and it's just wrong. He just has way more pressure and strain put on him. Same with Kobe these last two years, the Lakers needed to address the PG issue years ago and it never happened. The Chris Paul trade obviously would've fixed things but still they had to do something..it's going to continue to be like this as long as the PG situation stays the game
No one could close games with this current roster
