The Rockets should just trade Lin
It's getting sickening watching Lin play for the Rockets. I really wanted the Knicks to match his contract because he was going to go to the Rockets if they didn't. They're simply not a good organization or an organization that an NBA player would want to play for. What makes things more difficult now is the fact that he has to play with James Harden who is by far the biggest ball-stopper in the NBA.
I really do think Kevin Mchale is trying to blackball Lin out of the league. It's sickening watching him and the rest of the coaching staff purposely bench Lin in closing seconds and make him play low minutes just so they can get him out of the league. Most of the time when they have benched him in late minutes, they have lost, but tonight they happened to have won when benching him.
They should just trade him so Harden can get a better fit and so Lin can actually be Lin but I suppose when you are trying to destroy someone's career, you don't want to get rid of him until he is completely worthless.

It could happen^. He'd be a hell of a bench scorer for L.A. until he develops into their starter.

You really think that the coaches are trying to get Lin out of the league? If he doesn't get minutes its prolly cause he's simply not good enough. Fanhood for single players takes people down odd avenues.

There is no good trade between Houston and the Lakers.

Unless the secret plan is to develop Tony Douglas, I dont see why Lin didn't play that 4th. He had a pretty good game going, played good defense on Rondo, etc.

Lakers has no assets. Only want Hill and Meeks from that roster.

Re: The Rockets should just trade Lin
Houstin are probably happy with all the $$$ he racks in
He's a decent PG, people talk of him like he's Johnny Flynn FFS. Sure in a handful of teams he owuld be the Backup Guard however we're talking about a guy not 60 games into his career yet.
His productivity could be better if They were not so harden Reliant however thats how it is. Remember he did cop a bad knee injury last year as well, maybe the fitness and mobility isnt all right there

1. To be fair, Toney Douglas right now for this month is shooting 3's at an OJ Mayo percentage, and has now scored double figures in his last six games. He might actually belong in this league at some capacity.
2. We're not trading Lin because at the end of the day, our backcourt is really, really thin. Daequan Cook is nominally our backup SG behind Harden, and he sucks. Scott Machado is the 3rd string PG. Lin is good enough to be a rotation player, and we're not trading him so soon we could somehow upgrade the backcourt in the process. That simple. The Lakers in particular would be of no help - we would need a PG if we traded Lin far more than we would need a PF right now.

As long as the Rockets win I'm not going to make a big gripe about it, however he didn't play a bad game and is a better defender than Douglas imo so I don't know what's up. I wouldn't mind for them to experiment him coming off the bench as the commentators alluded to as well.

I missed the part about why McHale wants Lin out of the NBA.

lol... Again with this?
Apparently if a player isn't played, that makes an organization bad. Seriously? Where is the logic?
The OP has nothing to go on. There's no basis behind it whatsoever.

For right now that could be a good experiment, but I do think that eventually these two will figure out how to coexist and play off of each other.
Right now the big thing to avoid is the knee-jerk response. This is a young team. Be patient.

It was just a bizzare decision. How many teams bench their starting point guard for a guy shooting 37% for the season? Tony Douglas played 24 minutes and had 0 assists. He was 1-6 going into the 4th. AND he played terrible defense tonight.

I don't know why he does it, but I do think he is trying to do it.
Mchale treats Lin like complete trash. He never says anything positive about him, always benches him in late games, and he never gives him any minutes. Did you hear him at the end of the 3rd quarter when he said Harden is the only guy that can beat players? He didn't even bring up Lin's name and he can clearly beat players off the dribble.
Mchale simply does not like the guy.
Just remember that Kyle Lowry left Houston because of Kevin Mchale and Jeremy Lin's game is actually pretty similar to Kyle Lowry's.

Parsons has more points per game on drastically better efficiency (.474 TS% versus .564 TS%), rebounds well for a SF, is paid one million a year for three years, plays defense, has higher win shares, and is 24.
And I'm supposed to trade him for a 32 year old PF who's currently injured and is not playing well this year at all.
