Dragging a sorry Magic squad to the Finals? Briefly rivaling LeBron as the best player in the world?

D12's peak > Kobe's peak. Only difference is it's harder to see because D12's peak was mostly about defense, even though his offense was still quite efficient.

Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu played like All Stars in the 2009 ECF against the Cavs. They may be washed up trash now, but without them, the Magic wouldn't have sniffed the Finals.

This team could work without him. Imagine instead of Kobe they rounded their bench out with decent scoring options like a Landry/Jack or a Crawford/Bledsoe. That would be a scary team.

This.

It seems like anytime the team has just a little bit of momentum the guy takes a horrible shot. It's like he's doing it on purpose but doesn't even want to.

I made the same point in the game thread. Kobe takes borderline impossible shots when he has a team of studs that could easily take a better shot. Especially the last shot he took... they didn't even run a play. He just dribbled it up court and took a hard, contested three that bricked.

I'm trying to sound as honest as I can without coming off as a Kobe-hater, but I think this team would work much better without him.

If the Lakers don't make some type of move I really wonder who Howard will end up signing with next season.

Those reports were false. Just like the ones out of LA that Mike Browns job was safe, 24hrs before he got fired.

Do any of you guys know basketball?

The whole Magic system was entirely crafted about Howard, both offensively and defensively. How do you think Hedo got space? Because D12 was the best pick-n-roll finisher in the league next to Amare. How do you think any of those guys got 3s? Howard. How in the world did Howard/SVG carry the Magic to an elite defensive efficiency without even one other above-average individual defender?

Horford and Howard would not fit. In that situation you'd look to move Horford for an upgrade at either guard spot.

wat?

Horford is one of the best mid-range shooters in the L. Low-mistake player who is a good passer as well. Very athletic and can switch on pick n rolls defensively v anyone. Absolute guarantee for a t3 defense assuming a healthy Howard. A perfect fit, really.

That's a tough fight. Dwight has a reputsation of being soft while Kobe has looked terrible in the fights he's been in. I give a slight edge to Dwight in a fight

Hope Lakers trade Kobe to Bulls.

Kobe is the only other player (other than Rose) who is NOT afraid of Jordan Shadow in Chi-Town.
