meh he's a slightly better Sebastian Telfair without the leash that Bassy had in his early years.

He's a bad shooter who loves shooting.
But it doesn't help that we have the worst offense in nba history and one of the worst players in the nba, monta ellis, is starting with him.
But I don't think he'll ever be anything that good.

Where he goes next will be interesting. How much money he makes will be a big wakeup call if he is smart. If he isn't, and I'm betting he is not, he will drift into mediocrity.
He's a restricted free agent. I see very little chance he's not on the team next year.

he's a borderline all-star point guard, he's pretty good
but in terms of ever matching his first month of production? nah he's never gonna do that

Re: Will Brandon Jennings ever realize his potential?
Milwaukee is
9-2 when Jennings shoots .450 from the floor, 10+ shots
4-1 when Jennings shoots .450 from the floor, 10> shots
8-14 when Jennings shoots sub .450 from the floor on 10+ shots
1-0 when Jennings shoots sub .450 from the floor on 10> shots (the Chicago comeback he was on bench for)
I mean Milwaukee is in a tough spot with Jennings. They're unlikely to upgrade the position via FA or the draft however they are not consistent enough with Jennings to really build around him. I think Milwaukee likely resigns him and hopes that they can stay 3rd in the division toward the middle of the conference but the real question is what does that do for the Bucks long term.
I think the Bucks are a good draft pick away from being an Atlanta of a conference.

Bucks are pretty much going to be locked into paying this guy.
I'm just glad we're letting the market set his value. Hopefully his salary doesn't top $10M/year.

milwaukee has been pretty good with jennings at the helm
unfortunately bogut was injury prone and they traded him away for monta
skiles is a good coach and that team can be a threat with the right pieces

What does Skiles being a good coach have to with Jennings anymore? You know he isn't the coach anymore and that he wanted to leave Milwaukee months ago.
Looking for a new signature. Currently, still evaluating.

Dude. Do your research. Skiles isn't the coach of Milwaukee anymore.

Not sure why are people so rough on Jennings, guy's playing pretty good and is leading a highly talentless team to at least a decent record and another playoff berth.
He's not the most efficient (that's highly overated term anyway) guy around but he certanly ain't a garbage like you all claim him to be.
And he'll probably going to get even better as well.

I'd argue Jennings has just about reached his potential and that seeing any more potential in him is seeing a mirage
Just for the sake of the Devil's Advocate argument...
Jennings COULD find a situation where his coach scales back his shooting volume, puts him alongside a decent PnR big man with a 17-foot J, arranges some spacing shooters around him at the 2 and 3 and then has Jennings do kind of what Darren Collison is doing for the Mavs right now.
That would be a more effective role for him, and even though his raw PPG would come down, it might be seen as him realizing his potential a little more because he's fitting his role to talent in that situation and acting as a net positive contributor to the team's offense.
EDIT: As opposed to being an albatross, which is his current state.
Sounds a lot like that the Hornets could offer with their system (PG / SG / SF weave into double high PnR w/ Davis + Ryno) and I know a lot of Hornets fans on another board want him via FA this year. But really, I'm not sure he'd be as good as Vasquez in N.O. so I don't like the idea personally.

*shrug* i thought skiles used him well and was a good influence on the pg. jennings improved his efficiency every year (slowly but surely) in shooting while keeping the turnovers down. i think with jennings' speed and talent, he benefits under skiles' slow half court set/structure to keep him from gunning.
milwuakee won 46 games in 09-10. it's sad they haven't moved in the right direction since, but they certainly have the potential.

Brandon Jennings = JR Smith = Demarcus Cousins = Tyreke Evans, etc etc.
Some guys will never "get it" as Barkley stated in the Cousins discussion.

Re: Will Brandon Jennings ever realize his potential?
I think he could "get it" if he was put in the right situation. Put any guard on that Milwaukee team and I guarantee their FG% will drop right off the face of this earth. They literally have no one who can create their own shot apart from BJ and Ellis.
He'd fit in well on a team like the Bulls (sans Rose of course), where he can play his natural game but has other threats on the court with Deng/Boozer

Lets not forget that the Kings, as an organization, is horrid in developing talent, which Barkley inferred. If these guys were drafted somewhere else, we would be praising them by now instead of crucifying them.

Re: Will Brandon Jennings ever realize his potential?
It's always funny when non Bucks fans talk about our players. For many obvious reasons nobody is watching our games unless we are playing your team. Jennings isn't actually that talented and he really doesn't have an on court IQ issue to the extent people think. He's just a limited player in a big role who has the swagger of a superstar. He can't do anything threatening going right, he can't finish under any pressure, he can't find a man in the pick and roll he's actually a very vanilla PG other than being a lefty with a catapult jumper and a large USG%.
