He was the League MVP as a rookie.

Waaay Faster pace, all centers were less then 7 feet tall, most of the other players werewhite, no charging line, less athletic, no advance defensive gameplans,

That "Carmelo Anthony soaking everything in" avatar that I have seen here seems appropriate.

How many games were in a NBA season back then. Doubt it was the 82 game schedule they have now.

How did a 7 foot 2 player with a 50 inch vertical and enough strength/courage to beat up a mountain lion shoot 46% in his rookie year?

He should've be able to fly all over the court and dunk on people's face all the time.

Wilt shot Under 50% in several seasons....

I think his Era is overrated.

Account for Pace and lower fg% and his numbers are still great but not nearly that.

As a rookie Wilt scored 42 pts in one playoff game vs Bill Russell

Bill Russel plan was to let Wilt be dominant and shut down the rest of his teammates, it was effective since he was 7-1 in playoff series vs Wilt

Which is not Wilts fault since he was a rookie. If a coach doesn't have a better gameplan other than to give the ball to his best player and see what happens then what do you expect.

Put Russell on the Sixers and Wilt on the Celtics and I doubt if Russell uses that strategy.....
