No. Youre getting caught up in the moment. Every superstar has had multiple 50 point games and hes actually trailing LeBron in terms of points scored after the same number of games.

I've watched 100's of OKC's games in the past 3 years. The dude is just a flat out scorer, notice that I didn't say offensive player. Because he doesn't distribute aswell as other guys e.g Lebron/Jordan, but he can get any shot on the court he wants at any time, he can score from any spot, 3 pointers, dunking, layups, floaters, faders, turnaround jumpers, off balance, contested, and in the next couple of offseasons, he's going to keep improving his post game like Lebron.

I'm a HEAT fan obviously, and I don't love Durant, but I respect the **** out of him, he's an amazing offensive talent, and if it weren't for Lebron vs Durant going for the MVP. I would be supporting Durant to do this nightly, but I want him to have bad games to help Lebron lol.

Don't get how RC draws up a genius play to go to OT but has Brand catch it with his back to the basket with ~2 secs left at the end?

No one in NBA history has averaged more points than Durant on his current FGA/G or less. He barely shoots and averages 30 a game.

I still believe he's behind MJ and peak Kobe pre finger injury in terms of scoring ability, but yeah...I haven't seen someone score that difficult a 50+ point game since Kobe. Some of those shots were unreal. I think he may well go down as the greatest scorer ever if he continues to improve....he has all the physical tools and every shot in the game.

With all that beiing said, if we dont get OKC Vs Lakers 1 vs 8 seed first round. And it becomes OKC vs Mavs 1 vs 8 seed first round. With Dirk fully 100% by then , it has serious serious serious upset potential. 2 times they have played 2 times went to OT.

Possibly could go down as the greatest upset in NBA history, keep that in mind.

I think the Mavs could make a nice push in the second half of the season. They are really starting to play with intensity now and as Dirk gets better, the team should also get better.

#1 OKC vs #8 DAL could be awesome.

Shocked that Durant is getting so much praise for shooting 13/31 and getting 52 points. Had Kobe had done the same, we'd hear the same "chucker" type comments. Shows the double standards.

Impressive from Durant AND Westbrook nonetheless. Shocked that it's only his 2nd 50 point game. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets 50 a few more times this year since his scoring seems to been insanely good.

He scored 21 more points than shots...how is that chucking? Plus hit the game winner.

He wouldn't get so much praise if he didn't hit the game winner and win the game for OKC

Dantley did. Twice.

30.7 on 18.3 FGA and 30.6 on 18.2 FGA in 83 and 84. Durant after tonight is at 29.3 on 18.5.
But in his home dwelling...the hi-top faded warrior is revered. *Smack!* The sound of his palm blocking the basketball... the sound of thousands rising, roaring... the sound of "get that sugar honey iced tea outta here!"

Yeah, I figured that might happen. He was at 18.1 before tonight.

Any crazy efficiency scoring discussion is going to have Dantley's name in the middle of it.

Which is weird because he sticks out like a sore thumb for having such an overall negative effect.

richboy wrote:Durant is the best scorer I've ever seen. I've said this before. If he wanted he could average 40 a game. He scores 30 a game and doesn't break a sweat. If he had the mindset I want to shoot 25 times a game and didn't care about getting his teammates involved 40 would possible. He scored 52 today and it was one of his worst offensive games of the year.

He has a "scorer" first mindset. I'm sure he wants to shoot the ball in every possession, but the problem is, He's playing with a guy like Westbrook.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

Because we're not talking about 41 shots for points in the 30's, we're talking about 31 shots for 50's. Even if he did shoot as bad as Kobe, it's not a consistent thing for Durant, Kobe is consistently having horrible shooting nights. Durant is the most, or 2nd most efficient offensive player in the league.
