If the Raptors all catch fire, can they win the championship?

Mavs are the team that I've been rooting for in the West and they've been struggling a lot, but from what I saw yesterday, it just reaffirms my hopes that they'll make it to the playoffs, probably around 7th or 8th seed. Dirk still isn't 100% and O.J still needs to continue improving, not only as a scorer, but as a passer and continue to make good decisions for the team (as Carlisle wants him to do). I have high hopes for the Mavs and it should be a good rest of the season as DIrk gets back to his original form (not God mode Dirk, but his regular self)

Does game 7 go to 9 OTs?

Game 7 goes Triple OT because Westbrook has desire to hit the game winner but missed in the end of 4th quarter, OT and the second OT

The thing about the Mavs is they aren't as bad as their record. This isn't the Laker situation. Maves are 1-8 in Overtime games this season. And only the half way marker. That's 9 games they shoulda/coulda won stuff. If they even win the majority of their overtimes this season they'd currently be the 6th seed out West.

Mavs realistically are probably the 4th or 5th team out West same tier as Memphis imo. It is amazing how different this team function with Dirk, and he isn't even close to 100%. If they make a trade to get in a defensive big man, with offensive talents like Dirk, Mayo, Carter. This team is the straight definition of a Dark Horse contender.

17-24 record.
How many wins do you need for that 8th seed? 45?
Mavs would need a 28-13 record from now on.
I don't see it.

With Rockets-Blazers in freefall and Lakers still struggling 42-43 should be enough.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

If dirk was healthy to start the season, they could've been a 45-47 win team capable of being dangerous in the playoffs. The lack of a defensive minded center next to dirk is a big problem. Should've kept mahinmi and found a PG elsewhere. Mahinmi's per 36 min #s in his 2 seasons with the Mavs:

Don't want to lose hope completely, but starting to feel like too little too late.

Mahinmi's also playing well in Indiana, yet continues to foul a lot which is why he won't get starter's minutes.

He fouled a lot in Dallas and you can see the evidence there.

They all should stop, drop and roll immediately.

They can edge out the Lakers for the nine seed.

I didn't say he had to play starters min. A combo of him and kaman at center would've been more effective than what they have right now.
