As has been mentioned, the Board of Governors must approve the sale. They can still listen to Sac potential owners. They must approve move, too.

The Kings are gonna sell for a lot of money regardless. He's just calling out the owners on their BS, which is correct

I am sorry if you are a Kings fan. But this looks like a done deal.

I know there is supposed hope that the Board Of Governors will shut this down, and not let the sale or relocation go through.

To me, that's a pipe dream. I mentioned this like a week ago or so, in another thread: Who do you think is feeding Woj his info?

I think the league wants this deal to go through. I know KJ has his political future to think about, but I think the NBA has their own agenda here, and that agenda appears to involve the Emerald City.
** Embiid is the only MVP in NBA history to never make a conference final
** Philly won multiple playoff games without MVP Embiid
** Luka made the playoffs without Brunson
** LeBron missed the playoffs with Davis
** Steph missed the playoffs with Klay

It's not final yet. Believe me. There is a huge plan that they have to lay out for keeping them in Sacramento.

We in Sacramento have been through the roller coaster time and time again. We have been dead and done supposedly over and over. Till it is approved, and till it happens, we do what we have to do to keep them here.

Well I didn't think the players should've been getting 57% of the pie, so I guess I side with the owners on this one, but that's another issue. Where was his comment when NO was sold? Did NJ make a ton when it was in NJ? The value of the team is also in part dictated by what Maloofs are willing to part with and how badly Seattle group or Sac group(s) want it.

Not buying it. Writing appears to be on the wall.

What is happening here, as far as I can tell, is you have two competing public relations campaigns going on.

First one is KJ and Here We Stay/Here We Buy/etc. They are trying to put out the perception that "it's not over yet."

On the other hand, the other campaign, is trying to push the notion that "yeah, it's over." And that group seems to have more juice. As in, I think the league may be part of that group. Or at least certain owners may be part of it. Owners who may be on the Board Of Governors.

Few days ago, KJ put out a statement like "Maloofs could be part of the ownership group still, in some capacity." This kind of thing. Olive branch attempt. Maloofs didn't bite. Now sale looks to be going through. Now the next KJ Crew hope -- their last hope, it would seem -- is the Board Of Governors blocking either the sale or the relocation.

KJ Crew is walking the plank and the end of the plank is getting closer by the second.

I go back to what I said before: I think the league wants this to go down, for the Kings to go to Seattle. This is why, I think, basically every major writer for the NBA (Stein, Woj, Aldridge, ...) is putting out the same story. EXCEPT for a few writers in California.

We'll see what happens. If I'm a Kings fan in Sac, well, good luck.

They vetoed the min to Nola deal because of bad financials of the Nola group, not even close to the same situation

And the league via Stern owned the Hornets...

Sorry Seattle and the NBA but if the Kings do end up in Seattle it's going to have to be the ugliest, most outright screwjob to a city and it's citizens in the history of the league, or perhaps any league. Kevin Johnson, you're up.

The group that was to buy the hornets were not even contacted about the cp3 trade. The proposal, not accepted deal, was leaked before it got to the potential buys (who had an emphatic HELL NO).

LeBron James ‏@KingJames
I do know Mayor Johnson and the city/fans of Sacramento will do whatever it takes to keep the team put. We'll see what happens

LeBron should look into becoming an analyst once he hangs up his sneakers. Hope he doesn't work for ESPN though.

The funny thing about the sale price stuff is if the rumors are true about how much the Maloofs % is leveraged, they won't be breaking much more than even at best! hahaha.

Hopefully replacing Kenny Smith....

He has a history of bad quotes and all that, but the guy is a stats wiz. I remember him naming off some statistics for other players when calling one of the all-star events in 2010.
