Exactly what I'm thinking. He looked rusty as hell but still dominated every game. That speaks for itself.

Would be the perfect combo. But, Scal would never play for the lakers 8-) .

He wasn't exactly taking it all that seriously, especially defensively.

Professional basketball players in the NBA are paid minimum half a million a year.

Players who are not in the NBA or did not make it are lucky to be paid 50K a year to play for a local team.

If fit and in form, any NBA player can mix it up with any professionals in the world... There's a reason that they eat paid more than doctors, engineers, accountants etc... These guys have the physical size, ability to be useful and effective on the basketball court. Scal is also a very smart basketball player, at worst he already knows what his amateur opponents are trying or will try to do against him... He watched and studied videos with coaching staff for years.. Knowledge and anticipation of opponents moves, he would have good advantage at.

I wanna see Scott Brooks or Scott Skiles or Danny Ainge go up against some dudes one-on-one.

Maybe there's a chance that they lose......maybe.

Shows how good even the scrubs are in the NBA. Scal wasn't as bad though, most NBA players average a 5 year career, he more than doubled that.

I'm pretty sure most of us could beat Jan Vesley one on one though tbh

Rusillo a couple years ago on his nba today podcast pretty much said along the liens of, " Nothing like playing against an nba player to know how much you suck (at basketball)."

He wouldn't identify the player, but he said it was a guy who was an 11th or 12th man on an nba team.

Nothing beats that one poster, An Unbiased Fan, claiming that he could beat Wizards Michael Jordan one on one.

Man, Scal is the same age as me. You don't have to round that far up... :(

The rules of that 1 on 1 even give the opponents a break. Scal would get every single rebound otherwise. Those blowouts shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Scal didn't win some fantasy sweepstakes to play in the nba for 10+ years.

MJ's let average guys beat him before. I'd like to see a vid of MJ absolutely trying to humiliate an average joe, but I haven't seen many videos of him trying to do that.

Haha, I really had no idea he was that young. I assumed he came into the league a few years before 01-02.

It was nice to watch, but Scal travelled really obvious on a couple of occasions, but the ref didn't blow the whistle. Look at his last bucket, he moved both feet, and it was very clearly a travel.

Just because Scal LOOKS like the worst player in the game to casual fans doesn't mean he was ever anywhere close.

Biedrins or Vesely holding an open challenge would be much more fun. They'd still destroy anyone and everyone, but it wouldn't be as "pretty"

Body of D-wade with the game of Penny Hardaway

The man would have been a sure-fire HOF if it weren't for those career ending injuries

Makes you remember that even the worst player in the NBA is still in the top ~500 basketball players in the world.

Even against an old, retired, and somewhat out-of-shape (by NBA standards) benchwarmer these guys got absolutely smoked.

Well he does have a minimum of like 4 inches and weight of like 30+ lbs on every guy he faced.

Obviously his drive is going to be sweet against small guys who have to really get up on him just to hope to bother his jumper. Put a guy with equal length that can bother the shot without having to over commit and we'll see.

But obviously you don't realize how good of an athlete he is and he's probably one of the worst athletes in the NBA. He was dunking with so much ease.
