Why do you think he's open on those mid range shots? Its because LMA is an absolute beast. Lillard has been very impressive, but Lamarcus Aldridge is far and away the best offensive player on that team.

The fact that we're having this discussion shows how mature Lillard really is.

I don't think you watch the games. Yes Aldridge is a big part of their offense, never seen anyone deny that. Lillard though, is doubled and trapped a lot by opposing teams. The offense functions much better with him the game and other teams know this. Taking Lillard out of the play is a strategy team after team has been using.

And what's wrong with Lillard using picks to get open like oh I don't know every guard in the league does? And if he catches you on an iso he can easily get an open shot with his step back. If the lane is open he's shown he can drive (mostly to the left atm).

Lillard is doing what he's doing against starters, too.

Can't you just be happy that you have Drummond without trying to downplay Lillard? Both teams made great draft picks.

Uhhh...I can't objectively talk about a player unless its complete praise. The fact is Lillard is playing with an all star PF, IMO the best PF in basketball right now. You can't tell me there's any other reason why bigs don't show harder on the Pick and Roll. This conversation has nothing to do with Andre Drummond. This has to do with Lamarcus Aldridge being the best player on the team and Lillard benefiting from playing with him. You replace Aldridge with Kenyon Martin and Lillard doesn't have an open lane or jumper after the screen. Its really that simple. Lillard has been amazing this year, but he also has an excellent starting supporting cast that makes it easier on him. The only reason it looks like teams plan for Lillard is because he's the one with the ball in his hands most of the time. But if you don't think teams are more afraid of Aldridge in the post than they are Lillard at the top of the key, you're underrating him.

Ross not doing too well lately. 2-8 tonight and 0-4 the game before. A great dunk but his shot selection needs a lot of work.

Val is finally back but didn't play much so can't really tell where he is at.

Hush, Hero. You always have something negative to say.

Here's a sexy Ross oop from today's game:

*1st real game where he had time to prepare for playing the new position. The IND game doesn't count, when he prepares to play SG, then finds out he;s going against Paul George at SF an hour before tip off.

That game was over before it even started anyways because of the trade mess.

Lillard is pretty bad at finishing at the rim at a good clip

he tries to avoid contact way too much, thus not getting the calls

His biggest weakness on offense is finishing at the rim, if he can improve that over the summer he will average 22-23 a game

just out of curiosity, I decided to compare Lillard's at-the-rim numbers with some other NBA PG's when they were rookies.

(FG% on #of attempts - % assisted):

Damian Lillard: 57.8% on 3.8 attempts - 22.5% assisted

Jrue Holiday: 54.9% on 2.1 attempts - 29.8% assisted
Kemba Walker: 49.4% on 2.7 attempts - 28.4% assisted
Ty Lawson: 60.5% on 2.7 attempts - 20.6% assisted (lower% this season on more attempts)
Derrick Rose: 58.0% on 5.9 attempts - 35.3% assisted
Rajon Rondo: 54.0% on 2.7 attempts - 34.2% assisted
Stephen Curry: 57.6% on 2.6 attempts - 40.5% assisted (lower% this season on fewer attempts)
Russel Westbrook: 47.0% on 5.7 attempts - 30.9% assisted
Tony Parker: 65.0% on 5.5 attempts - 27.0% assisted
Deron Williams: 56.0% on 4.2 attempts - 29.0% assisted
Mike Conley: 52.0% on 2.9 attempts - 18.0% assisted
Chris Paul: 55.0% on 4.0 attempts - 12.6% assisted

obviously, Tony Parker is the king of this stat, but it's really pretty interesting how Lillard stacks up against other PG's. Of the 12 PG's I listed, Lillard is 4th in FG% at the rim. Only 3 of the other players have a lower percentage of baskets assisted by teammates. Yet Lillard is in the top half of the 12 players in number of attempts.

he really seems to be doing pretty well when it comes to finishing at the basket. Especially when you compare his rookie numbers against all-star rim-attackers like Rose and Westbrook. But having seen all his games, I'd agree that's one of his weaknesses. Which just helps to illustrate how advanced his overall game is

Now, it's true he's doing this while being a couple of years older then most of the other players at the same stage of their careers. So he does likely have an advantage in physical maturity. Generally though, I think that tends to get overrated around here as an advantage

thanks

forgot about Irving, sorry

60.4% on 5.5 attempts - 23.7% assisted

he's actually doing worse this season, 58.6% on 4.5 attempts - 27.1% assisted

still, that's pretty good, especially considering Irving's efficiency on jumpshots. But, then Irving's issues aren't in creating his own offense...he's great at that. What he's not great at is creating efficient offensive opportunities for teammates. His assist/turnover ratio is really quite bad for a PG

I bet Calderon finds a way to get Drummond some monster alley-oops.
Looking for a new signature. Currently, still evaluating.

Yeah more lobs for Drummond. Brandon Knight seems incapable of throwing lobs, its only Bynum and occasionally Monroe, Calderon should help a lot.

Drummond's mixtapes are really entertaining. Still can't believe no one has made an NBA one yet. His highlight reel in the NBA could be 10-15 minutes long. Drummond may be one of the all-time draft day steals when it's all said and done. If anyone on here is good at youtube, you should make an NBA mixtape. Tweet it to Drummond and I bet you'll get a response. I'd do it if I knew how.

I have been watching this kid for 4 years now. I still can't believe we got him.
