Yeah I think Kareem had 5 MVP's by 29 and Russell got his 5th by 30.

Kareem got his 4th MVP at age 28 the same age lebron would be assuming he wins his 4th but some of kareems MVP wins are suspect. He won at a time when players voted for the award and his team that year in '76 only won 40 games.

Russell was also 28 at his 4th MVP but at least his team had a dominating record to go with it, 58 wins.

LeBron deserves it more than any other year this year...
I think the Spurs have more of a chance to win the title this year though...

I still don't see it with a 5 game lead. I think it has to be double digits. Even then, he still shouldn't win MVP.

Don't think Rose was anywhere near the lead after the allstar break in 2011 either. I honestly don't think he got into the lead or it started being really talked about over LBJ or Dwight until the Bulls won that game in Miami early March that season.

Yes, but thats a different situation.
Rose was a very young rising star becoming a star very quickly. He was also in a very big market and being in Chicago is going to help considerably as opposed to SA.
And Rose was the focal point of the offense where Tony Parker plays in a very system orientated offense.

95-99.9% of why Rose won the MVP was off narrative, and team record.

Classic Barkley, always trying to be edgy. There is no legitimate reason Parker should win MVP.

Parker doesn't even have the highest PER on his own team. Barkley is just being a trolling idiot as usual.

If only i could find a gif of LeBron's pre-game dance against the Hawks the other night. It would sums up the whole MVP race.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

The only reason Rose won MVP was because the writers were punishing Lebron for going to Miami. Lebron deserved it more in '11 than in '12. (Cp3 deserved it last year.)

What makes you want him to get it over Lebron? He's having a historic year.

While I think James hands down wins the MVP...this really might be turning into James vs. Parker down the stretch.

Much respect to Durant, but Parker may be edging him out for second place.

No. James has deserved it the last 4 years. EASY.

I think Parker deserves it more. Manu and Duncan have missed a lot of games, and Parker has clearly been the best player on the best team in the league. It's about time he's rewarded for that. People also seem to ignore just how great Wade and Bosh have been this season.

OT: I didn't know Lebron's FT% was only 74%. That's ridiculous.

I think he was, not only from the numbers, but the fact that the Heat instantly were title contenders, while the Cavs dropped to the worst in the league.

I think this is evidence that Lebron really isn't focusing like he could be.

I personally dislike the "best player on the best team argument" as it doesn't accurately reflect a player's value to his team. You're kidding yourself if you think the Spurs without Parker are worse than the Heat without Lebron. I'll post it again:

Lebron On-Off:
11.2 ORtg On Court
-6.8 ORtg Off Court
18.0 ORtg Net On-Off

Parker On-Off:
11.1 ORtg On Court
5.0 ORtg Off Court
6.1 ORtg Net On-Off

Truth is, Coach Pop has an amazing ability to make the most out of his players as well as designing an efficient offensive system. Also, Tim Duncan is having a resurgent year that we should not overlook when considering the Spurs' success. Parker is fighting Chris Paul for the best PG in the league, but to say that he's more instrumental to the Spurs' success than Lebron is to the Heat's is absurd. If Lebron finishes the year at the rate he's been producing since recovering from his ankle injury 18 games ago, this is arguably a top 3 peak year of any player in NBA history.

The Spurs would not be first in the West without Parker. The Heat would at the very least, be in the top 3 with just Wade and Bosh. If the Heat end up with a better record than the Spurs, then Lebron would deserve it.

Please you're not a tony parker or spurs fan you're just a lebron hater your post history is evident by that. The Heat are not ending up with a top 3 record without lebron that's just ridiculous.

The Spurs have an amazing system that parker works in, he's not the system however.

And that is just offense. LeBron also has clearly the best DRtg on the Heat while Parker has pretty much the worst Drtg on the Spurs (aside from 1 or 2 low minute players). It would be Rose 11 all over again with a PG getting all the credit for his team's defense (except that Rose at least did not suck at it)

Don't argue with that Knicks guy he is left basically on an island by himself even guys like jordan bulls, etc. don't hate on Bron as much anymore. His first indication that he is a troll was sayin Bron didn't deserve MVP last year. This year he is outdoing even himself and making a historic season by Durant almost an afterthought. He guy is on pace o shatter the per record with the way he is going. Oh yeah his team is also at the top speed in the east. If narrative matters he has curb stomped the three other best wings (Durant, harden, Kobe) at home and in their home turf. Oh yeah has only one game this year where he scored under 20 and under 40 %
