It doesn't surprise me. He's more comfortable going balls out in a lost cause like the Celtics this season than having the pressure of actually winning in June.

He's never wanted the ball in crunch time and he's always showing off. This way he gets to talk a lot and no matter what happens everyone will be all "ooohhh KG is so passionate and loyal."

Seems to me he didn't want to leave a man behind (PP).

Good for KG, but I think he should've just retired. Can't blame him though, Ainge threw $36mil/3yrs at him. Smart move by KG to get the no-trade clause knowing he'd be probably be traded around the league for the next 3 years. Good to see him show loyalty to Boston.

He would have been a good fit for the Clippers but I think he made the right move.

KG has won MVP, DPOTY, more all nba teams, all defensive teams, all star mvp, and better carer stats. He was also the centerpiece of the Celtics team that won championship.

Now tell me why Ray Allen would laugh at him?

Kind of like Larry Brown and Pistons right?

Or how no one remembers Karl Malone or John Stockton.

This. Plus it also matters to him. Which is much more important than what we think. Its his career.

I did want to see him go to LA though they would have been a hell of a team.

Ray Allen is on a contending team with a good chance to win a ring

Completely wrong. Staying loyal to a team is a huge boost to your legacy and how you're remembered. In ten years Boston fans will talk up how great KG was anytime he's mentioned. So will his former teammates and coaches. Not to mention the media members who followed the team. That's not going to happen for Allen.

And why would anyone care if Ray Allen wins another ring scoring 10ppg off the bench?

Why are you assuming his reason was loyalty? How is it being loyal if the team thinks it's better for them to trade you? If you like the team, shouldn't you want what's best for the team and get traded?

I just think he didn't want to move at this stage of his career. He has a situation over there, he has a house and a family. I think it's more about being loyal to your family than to the team that wants to trade you.

Having a legacy you could be proud of is greater than being a 5th - 8th option of a championship team.
And Allen haven't even won his second ring yet, who's to say they're sure to win the title. This is so stupid.

And even if Allen wins his 2nd ring, Garnett is way above Allen on the All Time Greatest list, so meh.

You're right

Which is why I said have a good chance, no one said they're sure to win one. And I'm fairly certain Ray Allen legacy is something he can be proud of it's not like he isn't a champion, multiple time all-star and the all-time 3 pt leader
^ Because I said that makes them better

it isn't loyalty when 1 side wants to part ways but the other doesn't.

Yes, that's why you concluded 2 rings > Retired jersey. That makes sense.

He can be proud of his legacy, he can be happy if he wins his second championship. But we're comparing KG and Allen. If Allen wins 2 more rings KG's legacy is still >>> Than Allen's

That’s debatable, Ray is still the all time 3pt leader and one of the best shooters the league has ever seen. Hes got a pretty nice legacy going on his own with or without a second ring.
