Aldridge wants out?

Post#1 » by kakaman » Wed Jun 26, 2013 9:16 pm

http://www.dailyherald.com/article/2013 ... 706259711/

Word is, Aldridge wants to escape from Portland's rebuilding project and has made it known that he'd like to land in Chicago.

Deng for Aldridge won't get it done. The Blazers want Joakim Noah in return and the Bulls don't want to give up the superior defensive big man.

Here's one way to get Portland's attention: Offer Deng and Charlotte's future No. 1 pick. The Bulls are counting on that Bobcats' pick (acquired for Thomas, ironically), to pay off big, because it's unprotected in 2016.

Not sure Deng + 1st rnd pick would get Aldridge, but no way Chicago gives up Noah. If they are willing to give up Noah, 1/2 option of Rose and Aldridge would be deadly.

Portland Gets
Deng
#20
Bobcats Pick
Future 1st

Chicago Gets
Aldridge

Love him but no move involving Rose, Noah or Butler.

Portland is notoriously impossible to deal with though so this probably won't happen.

Would much rather do the 1/19 than Deng/Unprotected Bobcats pick.

This trade starts and ends with Noah........

Maybe a 3 way which invovles Deng going to another team

And that's the only way Portland would trade Alderidge to the Bulls. They would want Noah and nothing less. May as well lock this one up.

Deng at 10 million and who's a FA in 2 years, or a first overall pick for at least 4 years on rookie scale? Ya, that's a tough one.

Portland fans always bashed those that said aldridge won't like the rebuilding team. Who knew this would happen.

If anything Portland would want Butler, Bobcats Pick, #20, and a future first, as well as whatever can be obtained with Deng to a third team

Don't think Chicago has what they need to get it done.

The thing is, Chicago isn't going anywhere if they don't entertain deals like this. Noah isn't KG, he looks good because he plays in Chicago, not the other way around. Aldridge would be good anywhere he goes.

Why would we want Deng? We already have Batum.

Aldridge has yet to say that he wants out of Portland, everything thus far has been pure speculation.

Kind of funny that he wants to go back to Chicago when they were the team that originally drafted him then promptly traded him to Portland for Tyrus Thomas. Boy, what a stupid move that turned out to be.

Who knows if this has any truth to it, but I don't see how Chicago has the pieces to make this happen.

If Portland asks for Butler you'd actually say no?

Noah in a vacuum should be traded for Aldridge. The problem is in reality, it leaves the bulls with 3 well paid power forwards and no center. Makes you wonder how big of a mistake was giving the contract to Gibson and not to Asik.

Deng, Butler,Charlottes pick, Mirotic, and our 1st rounder is all we got. Not sure that will be enough.

Yes they do, they just don't want to give it up. Instead they keep acting like teams are going to give them a top 3 pick or an All-Star in his prime, for a 1-year rental of Deng.

If Aldridge is going to the Bulls it will have to be something involving a third team

Chicago:
Aldridge

Minny:
Deng

Portland:
Butler
Rindour
Derrick Williams
#9
#20
Bobcats pick

Theoretical of course, Minny wouldnt do that for an expiring contract

Of course that's what they want but they're not going to be getting it.

Our front office (and entire fanbase) is incredibly high on Butler right now and there's no trade outside of acquiring a superstar I can see us involving him in.

I don't think this gets done either but as others have pointed out with Deng and Batum being redundant a 3rd team would likely hafta get involved.

Hmm...even at the Bulls best it was more about their rebounding and defense. Even when their team offense was pretty good, it's boost was that they were #1 in the league in ORB%. Aldridge and Rose would be a nice pairing, Thibs should be able to get him to defend at a high level along with Gibson (wait, what happens to Boozer in this situation?)

The only thing is that I'm not sure that we should act like Aldridge has done anything specifically impressive in the post-season as an individual. Boozer arguably had produced better in the post season prior to Chicago. I say this because people's thought is probably "now they have a guy that can produce better as a second option in the playoffs". A first glance look at LMA's numbers might say yes, but an in depth look says "meh" to his post season production as a scorer.

Yes I say no.

He's incredible athletic, a top perimeter defender and shot 38% from 3 down the stretch last year. We finally have our SG of the future and there's no way I'm letting him go. Aldridge is great and would help us out a lot but he's a below average re bounder (in the Chris Bosh range) and only a little more efficient than Boozer.

Aldridge is as close to a superstar PF as the Bulls are going to get without trading Noah (if thats even possible). With Noah and Aldridge, the Bulls would eviscerate nearly every frontcourt in the NBA. Even the Heat would be **** their pants at the thought of those two wreaking havoc on Bosh
