Jeremy Lin getting bullied on the Rockets

Post#1 » by TommyB » Fri Nov 8, 2013 4:25 pm

Got this today - from a VERY credible source... He is being patient, but I can tell you he isn't really happy with the Rockets PGs. Wouldn't mind if Rockets look at other options.

Lin was getting yelled and screamed at by players and then by Assistants all the way to the locker room

from clutchfans Cyberx (reliable)

"Numerious people reported that after the buzzer Howard went beserk at lin in the tunnel. "

James Harden just lit into Jeremy Lin for his last shot. Beverly and McHale had to signal to him to calm down.

I was sitting behind the Rockets bench and there were a few times Lin was getting chewed out by Harden and McHale for what seemed not running the right play on the precious possession and holding the ball too long.

Wow first demoted to the bench and now this. What now?

If you look at that play, Nash screened(aka bearhugged) Lin. Beverley is then supposed to switch, but Gasol screened him. Then it's Howard, who did switch, but was too late. It was Howard who was late to cover Blake and he blames Lin. Somewhere Kobe and Stan Van Gundy are giggling that Dwightmare season 3 continues on in Houston.

Dwight had the balls to body Stan Van Gundy and then Kobe (which obviously failed hard because Kobe isn't taking any of that ish). Now Jeremy is getting bodied and James Harden is joining in.

Lol, if this is all true.

The Rockets need a scapegoat and Harden and Howard are untouchable since they are the "star" players on the team.

BTW: McHale needs to think long and hard about the Howard/Asik frontcourt before thinking that the PG situation is the main issue.

I break the play, but I blame you--great example set by the franchise star.

I see them dealing Lin and doing it fairly soon. Maybe to Toronto for Lowry or to Phoenix for Dragic? Rockets would have to throw in some future picks or something to get it done but it's starting to look like a potentially bad situation. Haven't commented on the Dwight/Asik frontcourt but don't see that working long term in today's NBA..it's not the 80's anymore.

Weird because Lin has been their most consistent player this year so far.

Interesting note, when Lin came in for Beverley in the 3rd quarter they were down by 14, when he left they were down by 3. He didn't come back into the game until around 6 and a half minutes in the game, which at that time he was shooting 5 for 7.

He was totally iced out of the game by Harden and company, not allowed to touch the ball while Harden played ISO ball and chucking up 24 total shots. The one time that he handled the ball in the 4th, he tried to call a play which Harden totally ignored. The ball was passed around and Lin got it back with 2 seconds where he had to force an errand shot, which afterward was chewed up publicly by Harden to the point that McHale and Beverley had to calm him down.

The play where Blake hit the 3, everyone was supposed to switch even if Lin wasn't being held by Nash they were still supposed to switch on the screen. Again, Lin was blamed by Dwight and co.

Lin finished the game with the highest shooting percentage, 16 pts, 2 steals, 2 blocks, took a charge but somehow he was the one that lost the game for them.

Harden's attitude is insanely terrible, and the only reason Lin ended up taking that shot in the first place was because Harden simply refuses to play within the offense or run any play that isn't an iso play for himself.

Whats depressing though is that the coaching staff would rather kowtow to primadonna Harden than hold him accountable, and instead is just piling on Lin, who is one of the only players on the rockets actually trying to run the offense.

In terms of game and temperament, Lin would be an ideal fit with San Antonio. I'd love to see him learn from Tony Parker and a coach who actually knows what he's doing.

The Rockets are going to be a train wreck this year. Probably the two most immature "stars" in the league in Howard and Harden. Good luck...

Btw, while I 100% agree that Howard and Harden are being whiny bitches, and that Lin doesn't deserve this ****, I question whether this can really be considered "bullying." Bullying to my mind is stuff like the Incognito situation with players threatening each other, or even some of Jordan's old antics with punching teammates and the like. This doesn't seem like abuse, more just like Harden and Howard are scapegoating Lin for their own screwups.

What about Harden and PArsons responsabilities? Parson gave the ball to Howard and they put him on the FT line. Where was Harden at this moment? Are they stupid? Why give the ball to the worst FT shooter of your team in this kind of moment?

Kobe and Howard last year were pretty good at it.

Who said he isnt thrilled with the pgs? Dwight?

I mean Dwight has to be more aggressive, but I do feel for him, Lin/Bev/Harden can't pass for ****.
Casspi is the best at getting him the ball.

As far as Harden is concerned, his responsibility is to run terrible iso play after terrible iso play where he either runs into people and falls down to get a foul, or tosses up a pullup 3 pointer--running actual plays and giving a **** on defense aren't part of the job description in his mind.

Wow this is like real life bullying, I'm surprised he hasn't cried in public yet. This could really put someone down.

Every locker room Dwight is in turns toxic. First Orlando, then LA, and now Houston.

I was talking about an out of bounds situation under 1minute to go i think. Nobody moved nd Howard had to take the Ball. Lin Harden stayed immobile. :o . Parson didn't call a time out ( maybe they didn't have one) a gave the ball to theworst FT shooter of the league. WTF????? D'Anotni was like " thx god they have stupid players"

And the McHale have to act like the Boss and put Asik over Howard in this kind of situation. Put Howard on the bench and put Asik back ! Act like you run this team and you have balls. Howard should accept it, if he grew up he may accept this situation.

Someone posted an anecdote on reddit the other day about how they go to Rockets games and routinely see Lin being yelled at and made the scapegoat when things go wrong.

I don't think there's any real animosity there though, it seems like it's more of a Mario Chalmers type situation where for whatever reason he's the team whipping boy

Bullied? This stuff happens on every level of basketball. Just because the coaches are yelling at Lin doesn't mean its bullying, this is way different than the Incognito incident.
