 So who's supposed to win then? Parker, Duncan or Manu? Surely Lebron can't win an MVP finishing 2nd seed in a conference where 1st seed is couple of games behind West's 3rd seed.

It's jordan bulls logic, we don't know how but apparently that and not losing with HCA are the biggest things in the world.

But they didn't. Because the MVP dropped 21 in the 4th to win.

I think the real question everyone wants answered is did he get his per over 30? If not, this season was meaningless. :banghead:

Yeah, conversation is meaningless. Durant had a great year and deserves the MVP. I just found it interesting because a 3rd seed isn't anything to run home to, and Lebron didn't win the MVP because his team came 2nd seed to the Bulls a few years ago.

While OKC have a better record than Miami I'm not sure respective seedings are even relevant.

This was a great running thread throughout the season and for the most part the discussion here was almost comparable to the PC board. It's only a matter of days before KD is announced as the new MVP of the league.

This season of his will go down as one of the best ever seasons from a wing. What I want to ask you guys is what do you make of him missing the 30 PER and .300 WS/48 thresholds? I ask because often 30 PER and/or .300 WS/48 are used as cutoffs for historic seasons a lot of the time. Of course, this doesn't take anything away from KD but does this mean we should reevaluate the 30 PER and/or . 300 WS/48 benchmarks? It also goes to show how difficult it is to maintain 30 PER over the course of a season and at one point of time it looked like he was going to shatter 31 PER and .320 WS/48 easily. What do you guys think?

It tells you how historic those other seasons are. Durant was ridiculous, and for a 2-3 month stretch, it was indeed historic. 35ppg for that long stretch on ridiculous efficiency. He cooled down at the end, but his season is still one of the best ever.

But hopefully people will calm down about this season being better than Lebron's best seasons. It's not.

A little early to talk about but who wins it next year? Will it be Durant again or will Lebron make a comeback. OR better yet someone new although I dont see anyone new.

lebron will never win an mvp again unless he goes back to Cleveland . He is good enough to get 30 ppg an over 50% shooting over on that team now. Back in the day he basically scored 30ppg in three seasons but wasn't as efficient .

Just look at his career stats. He averages .1 ppg more than durant somehow. 27.5 on 49.7% to 27.4 on 47.9% shooting

and if durant continues to chuck up 6-8 3's a game especially at the % he has been shooting them at in the last 9 games the Thunder will be missing the finals

Congrats to KD! I don't like him, but i respect him as a player and he had one of the greatest regular seasons ever. Hopefully, that's the only MVP he'll win this season.
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

Durant missing 30 PER is still a surprise to me.

Great season nonetheless.

It is Durant and he has more than deserved it. This is coming from a James "stan". Still don't know what the etymology of that word is, but eh, whatever. Durant is an absolute pleasure to watch on the offensive end and he is a much improved defender. I love watching efficient players and Durant is the definition of an efficient offensive player. Maybe that's why I was never a big Kobe fan. Congrats to Durant and unlike certain other players from Utah (90's) and Chicago ('11), this is all yours and you have deserved it.

Westbrook after he gets traded and blamed for the Thunder not winning a title, puts up 27/5/8 and carries team to a 2 seed
