Doubt the #9 seed wins 50. Golden State won 48 and missed the playoffs a few years ago.

The NBA seriously need to change the qualifications for the playoffs. If the Hawks play in the playoffs and the Suns dont its a farce.

At this point, with maximum win potential for all remaining teams realized, the eighth seed would have forty-nine wins and the ninth seed would have forty-eight.

Not true. If Phoenix wins out, they finish with 49 wins. If Memphis beats Dallas, both teams finish with 49.
