It's almost like some people think the early 2000's Lakers legacy was tarnished by making the 2004 Finals

As if it would have been better had they lost in the 1st round and not made the Finals?
Which makes no sense to me

See, its funny, I had the opposite result. Watching those games lately has made me appreciate the game we have now even more. The pick and roll, drive and kick, floor spreading etc. has made the game so much more fun to watch.

I have to agree. As a Laker fan, obviously I loved those teams. But the overall quality of the game has improved a ton between the better flow on offense and prohibition of wrestling that passed for defense.

Shaq and Kobe were a great duo, one of the best ever. That MJ/Pippen duo was pretty good too....

Classic games are always fun to watch. I like seeing how much the game has changed over the years.

You think you're discrediting that by bringing up basketball that was played 3 years later?

Yeah well the Pistons played the best defense i've ever seen and many could argue that they would've beaten the 01 lakers...but that's speculation
