I wasn't among people saying that Spain will beat USA but cmon. You can't tell based on this one epic choke job that Spain would not have done better against USA. It's not like USA haven't lost to inferior teams in the last decade.

I know right? Everyone wanted to anoint them Gold because they have "chemistry" over a team that had 60+ wins in a row. It looks pretty dumb now. Also people claiming matchups make me LOL. What position did Spain matchup well with the US? Frontcourt? You trying to tell me France's frontcourt is better than the US?

Come on, don't tell me you guys you did not want to find out... Now we will never know and Team USA will cruise to the gold. As a neutral fan I completely lost interest in this world cup. It really is a bummer that the Spaniards did choke, at least from a neutral fan's standpoint. I don't see how any other team could make it close against the Americans.

Don't get me wrong on the paper Spain was the biggest challenge to Team USA. I know our leader are Batum and Diaw etc...

I can't even imagine us being able to beat you, but at least we deserve respect I think... He outplayed Spain on nearly every level that's not some choke job from them or a fluke. We have a great coach too.

If you were scared as **** of Spain why not the same for all the 3 deserving team that are there. Or at least if you want to : Serbia (two good blowout in elimination rounds) and us.

Whats with everyone's hard-on for Spain?

They didn't even win EuroBasket 2013 - they finished 3rd place behind France and Lithuania.

In that tourney they lost to Slovenia, Greece, Italy, and France.

I mean come on people, get a grip. Neither Spain nor any other team is beating us in this tournament.

being floppers, scumbags and really really unfair with all the ref favoured calls, I am glad that they won't even contend for the medal. Basketball won today. 3 ancient basketball powerhouses and European champion will contend and it won't be easy.

I still think Spain would beat this US team 6 out of 10 times. Just like Spain would probably beat France 8 out of 10 times. In a one game setting anything can happen.
