Teague is definitely the worst player in the NBA.

I'm still expecting to see the 76ers trade for Steve Nash now that he won't be playing this season...

If the Lakers want to send their #1 pick along with him sure.

Now taht Thabeet isn't technichally in the NBA anymore, you might just be right.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Tony would and is going to own marquis... Tony will get his minutes regardless thanks to his size and athleticism to play both point and sg

Who cares his defense isn't even good and he needs to stop shooting 3s if he ever wants to get minutes on a good team.

All 30 of them. I wonder if 30 second round picks would net them a lottery pick.

Dumb move from us. The only thing of value in this trade was the pick and we gave it up, for nothing....

I assure you that the Nets would be able to buy a second round pick for less than the 4+ million they just saved with this trade.

The deal makes sense for both teams.

Good thing he doesnt play on a good team... Atleast wroten is a rotation player and has the potential to a good rotation player if he commits to defence or is in the right sytem. Teagueis not ready for steady minutes and he should be playing in the dleague for more development and playingtime... Not saying hell never be a rotation player because he does have the potential...

How much is that second rounder they buy going to cost them?

Well, IIRC you are able to add 3 million to any trade per year with the new CBA. Which means that the Nets spent less than that amount for the three 2nd rounders they bought this year.

Early 2nd rounders has gone for around 2 million historically, I think.

So again, a good financial move by the Nets. Teague and a 2nd rounder is not worth paying 4 + million for.

look, if you want to knock the nets and billy king's moves you have plenty of ammo...

but trading a 3rd string point gaurd who has been pretty awful and a 2nd rounder for an ungauranteed pick who will be cut is so irrelevant to the nets on court situation or future it is kind of crazy to hate on.

thats like watching someone shoot themselves in the foot and make fun of them cause their socks dont match

I don't think it was a bad decision. They hired Kidd before the Pierce/Garnett trade came up. They put together a stacked team (with the owner writing a blank check) and gambled that they would be healthy and Kidd could be a decent coach. Kidd turned out alright (after an adjustment period), but the health issues just didn't work out.

I'm sure there are plenty of franchises who wish they had an owner like that and such a coherent, ballsy plan.

That's true. Im more upset about continuously watching picks leave my team with not really getting talent back. It seems more like we are trying to just save money after a couple of seasons of over spending. It's annoying as a fan really.

The ridiculous part is, at college level the only thing he even remotely displayed was NBA level athleticism.

Nothing else, he couldn't shoot, couldn't defend any NBA caliber guys well, couldn't facilitate an offense, and he couldn't even get an arguably top 10 player in the league enough looks to average 15 ppg.

Bulls normally draft very well at the end of the 1st, I think this was a pick made on potential that just didn't pan out. Also helps when your big brother is very very good and plays a similar style in college.

I know all too well the pains of Marquis Teague :nonono:.

I was a supporter. I thought he could eventually develop into a decent back up PG on a fast paced squad like Phoenix or Denver, where he doesn't have to worry about running set after set after set like we do in Chicago.

The pick was all potential. Nothing more. Was an unusual pick by us, but at 29, it's no great loss to the franchise and it didn't set us back.

Would be worse if we took him inside 20.
