Fall off in terms of "not a major threat" though? Dumb. So dumb. Yes, the big three are old, but not dead, and the rest of the team is basically young and improving.

Wait what do you mean? Anytime a championship team doesn't repeat means they fall off? :o

Unless he means you can't have a better season as in championship.

The Spurs are slower starters, they only heat up around the rodeo road trip around All star game

Did you forget about Diaw and Baynes?
Bonner is only starting right now because he provides more spacing than Baynes.
Baynes will get more burn if Splitter is not healthy - the duo combined for ~36 minutes compared to Bonner's 23.

No, I didn't.
They're pretty dead if Bonner has to do much. Jury's still out on Baynes. Diaw spells Duncan who doesn't play so much anymore.

Having diced up and killed my warriors a little too easily I might add--I'd say they're fine. Helps when you're one of the deepest teams in the league and very, very good coaching.

Manu at 37 straight up balled on our whole team when the Spurs needed him to get going. Parker got anything he wanted against Curry to the tune of 28 and 7 assists with 1 TO. Kawhi was a bit quiet but still ended the game with 19 points. Kory Joseph off the bench killed us even with his 10 points.

Yeah, really the question is why do you think they'd fall off?

because some posters expected the Spurs to look like Champs in October and maintain that level of play for 8 months all the way until June

It was an uncharacteristically slow start, there was some minor cause for concern IMO, but it's all righted now. Spurs look like champs again, I'm sure they'll coast to a worse record than last year but nobody out West aside from maybe OKC is stopping them.

Spurs are fine. They will go to the WCF at least probably to the Finals again. Not even sure if OKC makes it to the postseason.

I love these hyper reaction threads that are either really wrong or really spot on. and in this case, it is just so wrong.

The Spurs are a great organization - i don't see why anyone would have any reason to doubt them. And they're not the best example for the next point I'm going to make as they've been together for awhile and have had continued success, but this thread is a classic example of a knee jerk reaction. At this moment there are 8 threads on the 1st page of the GB with either Lebron or the Cavs in the title - people need to chill with the strong knee jerk reactions to less than a month of play.

OP, would you mind making another one of these threads in about four months or so? Spurs nation appreciates your help.
