Re: Waiters on playing in OKC: "I actually touch the ball now"
Another reason I hate when people use stats as the end-all. Dion waiters is telling you himself he gets more freedom and touches and okc, but you guys who have never stepped on the court or even seen him play for OKC are saying he's wrong because of some stats.
Getting the ball after Lebron & Kyrie decided they've done enough dribbling down the shot clock, is a lot different than getting the freedom to create for himself which he has now

The fact that he is touching the ball less but feels like he is touching it more could could suggest that there is less ego in OKC and more ego in CLE. He's not actually doing more he just feels the strong, unselfish team first atmosphere.
Good for OKC.
Good for OKC.

He is a huge downgrade from Reggie Jackson.

Touches per 36 in CLE: 48. In OKC? 39.7. Oh. RT @ESPNNBA: Dion Waiters is really happy to be on the Thunder now...

They might be right actually, it might be more his perception than the actual reality of it, and his statement is not an actual "factual" statement, of course he touched the ball in Cleveland, we have the video, but it might be more of a statement of feeling less pressure and more relaxed in making decisions when he touches the ball.

The difference between Cleveland and OKC is chemistry, not ball movement or passing. Thunder just have better chemistry, a ton more. But that doesn't change the fact that they are one of the worst passing teams in the league who run no real offensive sets. Scott Brooks is lucky he has two elite players preventing him from getting flat out exposed as a head coach.
On topic, Dion also needs to shut up.
"I actually, like, you know, touch the ball"
You're a role player on the Thunder just like you were on Cleveland. No one cares how much you touch the ball, you aren't that good. Get over Cleveland and yourself already.

If Dion Waiters is shooting 1-for-9 then it must be Tuesday.
Or some other 24 hour period of the week that ends in "-day."

What he really means is..
It sucked playing with Lebron and and Steve Francis 2.0

USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team
Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Per his remarks to Slam (iirc), he envisions himself as an ISO player and P&X handler, not as a catch & shoot guy. The touches he got in Cleveland may not have registered in his mind as quality touches, because they weren't the ones he wanted.
Ultimately, arguing over this is silly at this point. Time will tell a detailed story.
So all the iso plays he was doing in Cleveland and killing the offense was not what he considered quality touches? This is just a honeymoon period so the players are giving him some extra rope so he can feel comfortable with his new team. Same thing for JR since he was saying that Cavs players are telling him to shoot more.
I'm unsure why your post is worded as a challenge. I am not defending or attacking Waiters. My post was a nonpartisan note that feelings are complicated, and that he had specifically commented on himself being a P&R type of guy, not a catch & shoot guy.
I haven't expressed an opinion about Waiters, good or bad.
My post was not intended as challenge and I apologize if it came off that way. I actually thought you made a great post and after looking at my post again, I can see why you felt that way.
