[UPDATE] Rosters Announced: USA vs World in Rising Stars

Post#1 » by Muhammad_Ali » Wed Jan 21, 2015 11:07 pm

The BBVA Rising Stars Challenge is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 13, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The head coaches for the 21st BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge will be assistants from the 2015 NBA All-Star Game coaching staffs. Hawks assistant coach Kenny Atkinson will lead the World Team, and Golden State Warriors assistant Alvin Gentry will coach the U.S. Team. The game will be televised live on TNT at 9 p.m. ET.

The BBVA Compass Rising Stars Challenge at NBA All-Star 2015 in New York City will feature a new format that pits first- and second-year NBA players from the United States against first- and second-year NBA players from around the world, the NBA announced Wednesday.

The league's assistant coaches will select 10 U.S. players and 10 international players for the game, with one ballot for each of the NBA's 30 teams. Both 10-man rosters will include four guards, four frontcourt players and two players regardless of position. Each team will also feature a minimum of three first-year players and three second-year players among its 10 spots.

Nice to see them trying something new. Hopefully it'll add the much needed competitiveness in these types of games.

Excited to see Giannis and Wiggins on the same team :o

Schroeder, Wiggins, Giannis, Mirotic, Gobert, Nurkic, Adams, Exum. You can put my Estonian ass on the court for 40 minutes and we'd tear the US team a new one.

I wonder did they decide this once they realize that who would want to watch this year's rook-soph game with no Embiid, Parker, Randle and Gordon. Plus alot of other rookies arent getting much clock.

So there will be a minimum of 6 rookies and sophomores on each team? I assume this means they can fill the rosters out with veterans?

BTW if the World team tries to add Ron Artest and Lloyd Free I'm going to file a complaint.

who you guys got? I'd like 4 Sixers there for homer reasons but I can't find a way to do so without leaving off guys who deserve it more (McLemore for example was a guy I forgot for the USA team).

The World squad is stacked like everyone said. I had a hard time filling out the USA squad, your help will be appreciated. Need a minimum of 4 front court American players, I only have 3 lol.

Shroder / Dellavadova
Wiggins / Exum
Giannis / Bennett
Mirortic / Olynk
Gobert / Steven Adams

MCW / Trey Burke
Oladipo / Payton
KJ Mcdaniels / Lavine
Noel / Otto Porter
Cody Zeller / ???

Bogdanovic from the Nets might get a call, World roster got far too many frontcourt players while they lack quality backcourt.

Noel, MCW and Covington should be locks if you look at production, have a hard time putting McDaniels in there tho.

Something like;
Payton/MCW/Smart
Oladipo/Hardaway Jr.
Covington/
Shabazz/Gordon
Plumlee/Noel
