Kobe has played for the Lakers longer than anyone else, so it's no coincidence he's also played for the most losing seasons. I think the better stat to acknowledge is that in his 18 years with the Lakers, Kobe has lead them to the playoffs 15 times, to the finals 7 times, and won 5 championships.

Thanks for posting this, I see what a bum he really is now.

He should have really been able to get his team over the hump and into the playoffs last season in those 6 games played... what a scrub.

Nice research, again.

There are a lot of ways to show that Kobe is the most overrated player of all time, but this isn't one of them..

The most mind-blowing thing about this post is the lakers have only missed the playoffs 6 times in their history?? wow.

Soo you're pointing out that any season Kobe has missed a ton of games, the Lakers arn't competitive enough to make the playoffs. I don't see how this hurts kobe at all.

He donesn't have the luxury of other stars being able to sit out a lot of games and still making the playoffs in the west.

What would be cool is to see how many some of the all time greats have missed the playoffs after being in the league 15 years:

Steve Nash - 4 times
Kevin Garnett - 4 times
Patrick Ewing - 4 times
Hakeem Olajuwon - 3 times

Actually, now that I think about it, it's amazing Kobe has been with the same team for 19 years. The only other players I can think of that can say that is Karl Malone/John Stockton......
I'm so tired of the typical......

lol, i'm no Kobe fan but he's been with the Lakers for close to TWO DECADES. No franchise, even a storied one like the Lakers, are going through 2 decades of basketball without some periods of rebuilding.

It's kinda weird how hyperdefensive Kobe fans are. Sorry, but when you spend years claiming Kobe is top 10 all-time and the greatest Laker ever, you're gonna get rebuttals.

Is it really a surprise that the player with the most Lakers seasons would have the most number of Lakers missed playoffs seasons?

Kobe missed 16 games in 2004-05, 76 games in 2013-14 and will likely miss 20+ this season.

This thread is dumb. Not one of those seasons were they projected to even sniff a playoff spot.
