What team should pick up Jeremy Lin?

Post#1 » by ChampionDrive » Sun Feb 22, 2015 9:15 pm

Lin is about as good as gone in LA. It seemed like he was never welcomed there to be honest from the start. The only guy that seemed to like him was Nick Young. He isn't really getting a fair shot (maybe due to tank reasons) but he is really about as good as gone.

What team should pick him up this off-season?

Guangdong Southern Tigers need a combo guard when Mudiay declares for the draft.

Whichever team wants a high pick in the 2015-16 draft

There are some teams that will sign him to a reasonable deal since he can be a good spark plug off the bench.

As far as teams go, here are a few that come off the top of my head:

Washington: If Sessions doesn't work out, they could sign Lin to a 2 year deal for an MLE type of deal with a P/O for the third year.

Sacramento: The owner there is willing to experiment with anything and bringing in a guy like Lin could be something he's looking at.

There are a couple of other teams that could look into him since he's a high character guy and is willing to do his job no matter how flawed or limited he is.

I actually think he'd be a good fit with the Mavs. The first time he was in Dallas he seemed to be pretty good at the pick and roll and would seem to fit right in.

Of course. Of course. Now it's LA where Lin "doesn't get a fair shot."

He's played even worse than I expected from him this season, and I did not exactly expect a huge amount from him.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

Grass isn't always greener. He actually did get a fair shot in Houston, it was just that Beverley was better and a better fit for the team.

LA's been a mess for a while now.

I wouldn't be surprised if he plays a bit better in a more structured system and for a better coach. Although you could say that about any Laker other than Nick Young & Kobe.

Phoenix Suns could use another offensive PG now that they lost Dragic.

Wouldn't mind having him back up Rubio if the price is right.

Yeah. They will need a guard like Lin to matchup with Marbury when they face the Beijing Ducks

Why are you guys acting like Lin is doing his Austin Rivers here? His numbers are not bad and per 36 is right around career average. Matter of fact, he's sporting career high in 3p% at 37% right now. He's a quality combo guard in the league. Any team can benefit from having him on the roster.
