He's gonna get close to double that, at least.

I don't think so. Teams are going to spend big on Dragic, Rondo, Love, Jordan, Monroe. If LMA & Marc Gasol consider leaving, teams will throw the max at them instantly. Someone is going to offer Knight, Butler, Reggie Jackson the max & force their teams to match, a big contract will also be offered to Harris to force the Magic to match. There are a lot of players that need to come off the board before anyone even thinks about making an offer to Middleton.

He's a RFA.

Bucks would match 6 per and laugh all the way to the bank.

The fact that he's RFA will have one of two effects, and it's a little hard to say which - either it drives down his price slightly, or it makes him get a big offer with the hope Milwaukee won't match.

He's shooting above average from every distance:

63% from within 3 feet
46% from 3-10 feet
44% from 10-16 feet
43% from 16-23 feet
42% from 3

agreed... and also was not happy that we added in Middleton when there was really no need to.

Granted I wanted to blow the old Title team up (once Larry Brown left and even more so once Big Ben abandoned ship) back when those guys still had high trade value. You can imagine how popular that idea was on our forum back then lol. Instead we got to watch Joe make one dumb ass move after another... oh joy. :P

Lol you really think the Bucks wouldn't match that offer sheet?

The only way Middleton is going anywhere is if a team overpays him significantly.

Rising cap with solid season, he will probably get Hayward money cause those contracts long term will be considered "bargains" if the potential is met

Middleton might have to be poison pilled if a team wants to pry him away from the Bucks this summer.

Something like 36 million over 3 where he's making 25 million in that third year, which would coincide with Giannis' & MCW's extensions. I can't see the Bucks matching.

Might be overrating Middleton a bit? You don't think so?

I think his floor for an offer is $9M, and $12M per wouldn't shock me.

God I hope he signs a 4/24 contract with the Lakers. The Bucks match that in a heartbeat. I don't think you understand, but the Bucks can match any offer he is given... and the Bucks aren't going to let him go unless he signs for obscene money i.e.: Max. That's about the only level i see the Bucks not matching at. They aren't going to just give away a 23 y/o asset for nothing. If they didnt want to pay him, he would have been traded with Knight around the deadline.
Khris Middleton - Beating up on Trash Can Teams since 1943. Invisible Man status otherwise.

Why do people think this is an option?

I think that's only allowed under the Arenas provision to early bird free agents who have been in the league 1 or 2 years, Middleton will be have played 3 seasons by the end of the season.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think Middleton falls under the Arenas rule.

Because you can't just randomly have massive year-to-year raises in a contract.
