The Bulls firng Thibbs is a dumb move. I got mad love for Rose but he has been hurt 2 out of the last 3 years. The free agent they got broke down and was injured when they neeed him the m (Gasol) and at least Thibbs would fight till the end or at least try. Good luck ChiTown

Teams usually 'mutually part ways' to avoid the awkwardness of this but this is pretty standard in workplaces when someone gets fired.

Good coach for young teams, bad coach for vets.
If you believe in not developing players
Not making adjustments in games
And running the same plays
And running your team into the ground with grueling practices that they have nothing left by the playoffs
Then hes the coach for your team

I'm picturing Thibs trying to stuff Kirk Hinrich into a cardboard box.

I'd say he's a great defensive coach. Overall coach I'm not sure. He can't seem to run an offense or simply calculate proper minute distribution. Maybe he needs better assistants?
If I were looking to hire Tibs I would make it a condition that he has to hire an offense minded assistant.

Bulls always fight till the end no matter who their coach was and no matter how good or awful they are.

He takes far, far too much hate IMO. The whole burning players out myth gets too much burn.
He's a great defensive coach and a decent offensive one too. He's been unlucky that his Bulls team have not had the luck required to make a serious run.
He would be wise to find a really good offensive assistant and give him a bit of freedom to build the offense.
If the Pelicans get him, Davis will become even more phenomenal. He will be given the freedom to roam the paint and simply erase shots.

I wonder if this was the first domino for Sheridan's scoop.
If not, Sheridan will look like an arse.

My point is Thibbs did all he could with the team he had. He's a great coach.

Yes, this is pretty standard for big companies.
Im guessing you're young or haven't given a chance to work for a big company.

I remember when Rick Carlisle was fired by the Pacers. Rick actually attended the press conference announcing his own firing, and he was cracking some jokes too about what he'd do now in his free time.
Granted, that was something of an exception, but the point is that the Bulls didn't have to carry out a firing in this way. It feels petty and personal, which probably it was.
