Yikes

Fascinating, that wasn't on my list of teams I was expecting to make that play. On the surface it makes a lot of sense though. The Bucks now quickly approach a phase where they may have a serious contending core...or may not. We'll just have to see how it plays out.

Monroe also is so interesting here in the modern NBA context. Obviously he's the type of player considered to be less valuable than in any earlier era...and yet that didn't stop him from getting a max deal, all it did was make him questionable enough that Detroit gambled and got nothing for him.

Too be clear, I love the signing. I'm just not sure how the rotations will work.

I mean we're basically just replacing Zaza and Ersan with Monroe and Parker and the former 2 helped us have one of the best defenses in the league :dontknow: .

Love the signing, if the Bucks can sign a PG that isn't MCW then they good money.

Bucks were an elite defensive team with Zaza at center last season. Their defense will be fine. Monroe isn't even that bad as a defender.

Shooting is an issue, but the starters won't play together all the time and basically the entire bench is made of great spot-up shooters -Vasquez, Mayo, Dudley. Plus, Giannis has already said he will start shooting threes next year and Jabari has potential as a shooter. And, who knows, maybe Vasquez starts and MCW gets moved to the bench, which would solve a lot of the Bucks problems.

I have some questions about Monroe's fit with the team, but his playmaking is a major asset and the Bucks need defensive rebounding a lot more than they need rim protection. The Bucks defense isn't based around funneling players to a rim protector - they hedge high and rotate aggressively. And they have such a tall lineup that everybody can contest shots at the rim. And Giannis can protect the rim - he is an excellent help defender. The Bucks issue is offense, not defense.

Love for both. They need some inside presence in the offense. Even zaza was doing some damage some times there haha. Let's see how Kid will manage this teams defense. If should be a challenge, but the bucks seem in a good path(though I do hate them getting mcw)

The Bucks will only go as far as Parker can carry them. He is their franchise guy, and it will be up to him to put them over the top. The fact the Bucks were so good last year with Parker out is scary. He'll be even better this year, and with the addition of Monroe, the Bucks should make some noise.

This is the one place he could go that I don't mind him doing! Great fit :)

Some statements are so ridiculous they should result in a timeout, so the poster can sit in a corner and think about what he wrote.

Mixed signing

Offensively, great, monroe becomes the teams first option.

Defensively, it goes against everything they do...
They need a defensive center off the bench
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

Exactly what Henson is.

I like Henson as a small ball 5
But he gets bullied by some of the bigger centers

Still a great signing.
But the NBA is tiring the center spot into a defensive anchor role almost exclusively.
