Lakers should sign Rondo just to trade him

Post#1 » by DS17 » Fri Jul 3, 2015 4:04 am

They have 24 mill in free cap space.. Signing Rondo for 10m and trading him for ANYONE can be good at this point. Im thinking we sign Rondo and another FA and trade

rondo + swaggy + FA + future draft pick for demarcus cousins.. ;)

If not any of this just offer Tobias harris the damn max.

You can't sign a player to a contract then immediately trade him its against the rules.

I believe its like a 6 month wait period or something if you sign a player to a contract before you can trade him.

Not many teams like him anymore after seeing him throw fusses in Boston and Dallas. I guess Kings are stupid enough though

Sign and trade is where player who is leaving his own team like Kevin Love last year wants to go to another team, but that team does not have the cap space to take him on.

The team he is going to gives up players so they can free up the cap space and then take the player on the roster. Sign and trade does not refer to bring in random player that is in free agency and sign him then immediately trade him.

Man, the Lakers could probably get BMac and Collison for him when he becomes tradeable.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Do the Lakers have a plan? What about Russell?

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

If basically no one except the Kings wants him right now, who is going to want him after half a season in LA? There is simply no way that he gets the benefit of the doubt on not being an issue if he plays good soldier for 6 months.

If anyone wanted rondo they would have started making cap moves for him...

Problem is nobody wants rondo anymore because he's a toxic player who isn't even good. 10 million is an absurd amount of money for a guy who is atrocious offensively and dominates the ball like he's a superstar. Factor in that he doesn't try on defense anymore(his calling card in the past) and that's why no one is scrambling to get him except maybe the most inept pro sports organization in any sport worldwide.

Makes no sense

A team would have to attach an asset to move rondo right now

But, since the kings are the only team that want him , lakers could do it to just wave a middle finger at the Kings...

However, getting into a fued with the most incompetent organization is NOT a good idea. You should be on their good side, to trade rape them
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

To who? For what? No one wants him otherwise he wouldn't be sitting around praying his phone rings.

Kevin Love was not a sign and trade. He was under contract for at least one more year with a player option for the second year. Which he declined to pick up THIS off season.

True I guess I forgot his contract expired later on I can't recall if Melo was originally a sign and trade from Denver to NY but that would be one of the most notable sign and trades in recent memory if it was.
