Who Was Your Favorite Player Growing Up

Post#1 » by chrismikayla » Fri Aug 28, 2015 7:41 pm

Which player was your favorite growing up, in other words the player that helped forged your love of the game. Mine is Earvin "Magic" Johnson(as you can probably tell by my avatar). I was in awe watching he and his Lakers battle Bird and the Celtics and loved the exciting brand of basketball he orchestrated.

Kobe and LeBron both helped really me get into basketball. I remember the first game I really watched was the last game in the 2010 Finals and Kobe's performance really just made me start to love the game. (Although I don't like Kobe at all anymore lol)
Ain't nobody respect my opinion on this damn forum :noway:

Tracy McGrady. I still have an Orlando Magic jersey from when I was in middle school and my bank pin is a reference to him.

So your bank pin is 1333 :)

It was honestly a tie between RIP Hamilton and Tracy McGrady. RIP with his endless motor was a treat to watch. Loved the way he would curl around screens and knock down jumpers all day. He literally would murder his opponents by out working them. It must have been torture to play on him.

Tmac is pretty self explanatory - geared up to be the anti-Kobe and was really just a special talent. He could do it all. the 13 points in 33 seconds still has to be one of my favourite sporting moments. I get goose bumps when I think about it.

No joke, Wally Szczerbiak. I cried when we traded him in 2005, haha.

I started watching regularly in 1996 when shaq came and kept watching ever since.
To this day I have not seen another player surpass his brute magnitude and Mack truck play on the court by anyone.
Kobe has solidified my enjoyment of the game.

Haha nah, not 1333. When I was young I memorized his total stats for each season to that moment, and I chose one set of numbers that I've never forgotten. TMac was like the ideological predecessor to Lebron James in some ways.

Damn, Rip is such a great choice. I use to love watching him play, and the mask look was so dope to me at that time.
