Crazy EC playoff-seed-predictions

Post#1 » by damecurry » Sun Aug 30, 2015 7:52 am

I know I'll get killed for this but I'm putting it down on the off-chance it comes true I have evidence that I saw it coming.

1. Cleveland
2. Milwaukee
3. Washington
4. Chicago
5. Miami
6. Boston
7. Atlanta
8. Toronto

I see the young up-and-coming groups taking a step-forward (in the bucks case a leap) this year. I think Giannis is ready to be a dynamic player already, I see something like 19/8/4 while being a great defender, Monroe to be better than he ever has now playing his true position, everyone will be better this year and if Jabari's healthy and the player they drafted then I think they could win 55 games, honestly
I'm not a beal fanatic but I do think he'll have by far his best year so far, and moreover I expect Porter to take a big step forward and be a very effective small-ball 4 in their new style. Wall will also be even better than he has and lead this team in a big way.

I don't see great health in chicago but I think they'll have fewer struggles than Miami. Is whiteside really that guy and can he stay out of trouble? Almost everyone on the heat is a health risk, Even if you get 60 good games from Wade, will everything with Bosh really be okay? Can Dragic/Deng stay healthy? Cause their bench got better but it's still not good. Just me but I see a lot of health struggles again bogging them down.

Celts got a little more talent and most of their guys should be a little better. Smart could be ready to do a fair bit more and with Stevens at the helm I think they'll be at least 5 wins better.

Hawks fans will go crazy and I don't blame them but I'm far from convinced Thabo will be/stay healthy, If Al goes down they'll be lucky to get this seed, and with Korver at his age if he lost a step from the injury creating the separation off of screens and such will be much harder meaning he won't draw the attention he did and I think that really hurts them. Probably harsh but almost everyone's older and they'd be extremely lucky to have the level of health they did last regular season.

Raptors, idk, I don't like Dwayne Casey I guess? They should be higher than 8th and be able to maintain a similar record to last year I just think they suffer the rest of the middle-bottom teams getting much better.

Blast away. Feel free to bring up in a 9 months if its horribly wrong because I will if it's incredibly correct,

Lol i don't know what you homies smokin but i truly believe Miami will trash the EC next year. Just looking at their roster it makes me wet, i don't get how all those lame ass EC teams gonna handle a potential 4 all stars, 6moty, all rookie 1st team guy, etc. Their injury problems are overblown especially now when they are 10 deep. Good luck to the rest of the EC teams though, we'll see :)

How? Last year we swept the Celtics, beat the Bulls without Love and with Kyrie at 50% health, swept the 60 win Hawks without Kyrie (he basically played one game) and Love, and then were two wins away from winning the NBA championship without...you guessed it, Kyrie and Love. And now the team has only improved by adding Sasha Kaun, Mo Williams, and Richard Jefferson into the mix. You've also got Varejao, who will be able to rest up during the RS, seeing that the Cavs are set in the frontcourt, so that he can hopefully be healthy come playoff time. I'm interested in what you think is the proper rating for the Cavs.

At least I agree with you about Milwaukee.

What's delusional about that? Mind to explain? I said heat has 4 potential all stars ( Wade, Bosh, Dragic and Whiteside) a 6moty candidate if he performs like he did with Dragic on the Suns (G Green), all rookie 1st team guy ( Justise Winslow off the bench). Increased depth which was nowhere last year with Winslow and Green backing up Wade and Deng, McBob, Stat and Birdman backing Bosh and Whiteside, Chalmers backing Dragic. You are the delusional one here without telling me how i'm delusional

Cle was overrated last year, made the trade; saved face. Then Love/Kyrie go down and they still make it to the finals and it validates their team as the best in the conference and that is what I rate them as but their superiority in the conference is wildly exaggerated. The unit they put out for the remainder of the PO was actually underrated, so much in fact that they're getting credit for being better than they actually are. TT/Bron/Moz front court was more than enough to obliterate the Bulls and Hawks, two teams that the Cavs would have likely beat anyway but by winning with the more defensive oriented Cavs they've been excused from losing and exonerated as better than we even imagined  . IMO the Kyrie/Bron ISO heavy Cavs would have still lost handily in the finals and Kevin Love would have been benched for the majority of the second halves, we just have good excuses now because the undermanned Cavs won 2 games... but not acknowledging that it's two very different teams(Cavs with everyone healthy vs. that 7 man line-up). Better players but subtraction by addition(you lose some defense, still ISO heavy offense)

I have them as a number 1 seed(not completely confident, just a safe pick) when it's all said and done but I think a lot of things have to go right for them for that to happen. JR, Shump are still the same players they were before and too much dysfunction could effect their play in a major way if it gets too consistent. With Kyrie missing a majority of the first half(likely) and Bron having to carry most of the load in the regular season after what he's been thru the last five seasons things could get interesting. Especially if Bron misses large amounts of time at once. I like the signings they made but not sure how they'll fit in... never liked the Shump/Jr signings either tho but we'll see how they keep up

All-in-all, I don't think they're unbeatable and will have a fair amount of comp.. I'd say Heat especially but I'm looking through my homer shades. Cavs have been crazy overrated and I usually don't mind it but I haven't slept for what feels like 3 days so I just wanted to rant. /rant

If the Heat are healthy and if Whiteside proves to be more than a flash in the pan, I think the Heat are better than the Cavs. The first if is a big one though.

Crazy Indeed.
Bucks at 2?
Bucks will miss the veteran leaders of Zaza, Illyasova and Dudley. Not flashy guys but understood and played their roles and did the dirty work. They may score more points but I think their defense will suffer.

Miami has a nice roster on 2K, in real life though, they'll be lucky to win 45. Wade is almost done I'm sorry, he's just not able to last a full yr physically. Hasan still has a lot to prove. Bosh isn't a #1 and is only getting older as well. Dragic is solid. The rest are some ok role players but no truly elite specialists either. Top that with at best average coaching, then you have yourself maybe a 5-6 seed if all things went well.
