Oh sure, there are starting 5s that could win now and again against that lineup, but Russell and MJ in their primes-- and with that supporting cast-- would have won 15 championships if healthy. Russell and Jordan would have willed it.

You are seriously underestimating West there. The man averaged 30 PPG at 50% shooting in his prime as a shooter in an era without the 3 point line. He was also the defacto play maker for his Lakers teams. The team here is probably the best shooting combination from 1-3 and then you have two very good interior defenders and passers in the front court. I'm relying on them to not have more than 2/7 bad shooting games in a series.

I know but he could be a defensive liability with the OP back court. He would get physically overwhelmed in a hard fought series and on the switch with Jordan/Magic/Bron.

The OP team can rotate and can switch well

Jordan primarily works most efficiently from the post ups, so I can always have my big man help and recover quickly in case of a pass. I'm not too worried about the defensive match up there. West was 6'5 and could hold his own otherwise. Its not a case where MJ would shoot over him constantly. The lack of 3 point shooting from your backcourt would be a serious problem.

His team has the prime MJ and you're thinking about the post 95 version of MJ?

I would want Bird but not if he had to defend small forwards. The McHale and Maxwell normally defended the small forwards. McHale was slower than Bird but could defend small forwards because his arms were so long.

People wrongly think of Bird as a small forward because of his role in the Celtics offense. Bird was a natural power forward who happened to have guard skills on offense.

Also, Magic usually did not defend point guards.

The OP team is crazy but not much long-range shooting or spacing for Jordan & Lebron to drive. With modern rules I'd go heavy shooting, and hope Pippen & Hakeem can be enough defensively, probably:

PG: Curry
SG: Pippen
SF: Durant
PF: Nowitzki
C: Olajuwon

I chose Garnett for defense and prime KG could switch with Bird to allow him to operate inside at times.

Kind of cheating by picking two guys whose best hasn't been seen yet, but I still like how this squad matches up with the Super Squad.
Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.
