No he sits and talks basketball. His commentary and insight is light years ahead of Barkley and shaq

And I say that as huge fans of both...Kenny does his job, never have I heard him hint he's in the same stratosphere as them as a player

Yep. I feel bad for wanting him not to get the job because I enjoy watching him on TNT. Barkley and Shaq without Kenny would be awful.

I love these guys but lately chuck hasnt said anything more constructive than shaq.

I don't believe he thinks he's on the same level as Shaq or Chuck. I think it's just his shtick so to say. He just says and acts like that for the TV viewers to think man this guy sucked and he thinks he's on their level being all cocky. It works too.

If the Rockets are considering Kenny Smith, why not look to another former guard who has actually put some time and paid his dues as an assistant in Sam Cassell?

Out of the guys from TNT, he is definitely the most capable. I like him as a commentator though, hope he doesn't get it and stays. Hope Shaq leaves TNT, but it definitely won't be for a coaching job.

I've heard Sam's name mentioned as well.

Rockets are interviewing a lot of people.

Not a fan of Kenny. But he fits perfectly with the TNT crew. That is by far the best pre and post game show out of any sport and it's not really close. I think Kenny would be a terrible coach though. Ya he has a higher BB IQ than Shaq and Charles but that's not really saying much. But I don't think his knowledge of the game comes close to other coaches. Just stay at TNT

I am skeptical of him because he has no coaching experience, but he is married to one of Barker's Beauties so the man might be onto something! Yes I know Bob Barker isn't the host anymore but it sounds better than anything you can alliterate with Drew Carey.
