What was your wost moment as a fan of your team?

Post#1 » by Augusto61 » Sat May 21, 2016 11:59 pm

I got inspired by "Most memorable shot" thread.

For me, as a Knicks fan, it was the 2013 playoffs deception followed by an embarrassing 2013-14 season.

Only Knicks fans know how it hurt.

How about you? What were the moments that made you pull your hair out as a fan?

Sorry if a thread like this has been made before.

Embiid's second surgery for me, If he doesn't play this season then it will be that. Was a punch in the gut.

Signing Monta Ellis.

No, as a Pacers fan its gotta be the brawl. That team was wrecking people and had a bunch of great players in their prime.

Game 6 in 2010 against Boston. Losing a series we thought we should win and our best chance at winning a title.

It also had the feel lebron was leaving (even though most of us wouldn't admit it at the time) all through the game and all but confirmed when lebron walked off the court and threw his cavs jersey away.

As a Blazer fan there are so damn many lol. I will say the one that still kills me is the 4th qtr collapse against LA back in the 2000 WCF.

What is happening right now. False hope.

After losing All-Star talent in Mitch Richmond and Chris Webber in trades and receiving virtually nothing in return this was the final straw. Spree, the last top tier talent on the roster, decided to choke the coach in order to get out of his contract and get off the team.

After that, our team was led by such talents as Bimbo Coles and Felton Spencer. "Who dat?" you ask. Yeah, that's what Warriors fans wanted to know too. My fandom was never put to the test like it was that season.

Grew up in NY a Knick fan. Bernard King was the man.
Stopped rooting for the Knicks when they got Sprewell.
Stopped watching basketball when Artest and Jackson went full 'tard.

Any Celtics fan would say game 7 2010 against the Lakers. Up 13 with 4 minutes to go in the 3rd. Perk going down when we were up 3-2. Lakers getting 20 free throws in the 4th including some bad calls against the Celtics like that Pau Gasol up and down no call late in the game, and to top it all that Artest hits a BS three. Nightmare.

Pacers - Larry Johnson's four point play, Prince blocking Reggie, or maybe in the finals Kobe lighting them up in OT after Shaq fouled out.

When the Rockets lost to the Sonics in the 1996 playofs. Was so mad because I wanted an Hakeem-Jordan Finals.
** Embiid is the only MVP in NBA history to never make a conference final
** Philly won multiple playoff games without MVP Embiid
** Luka made the playoffs without Brunson
** LeBron missed the playoffs with Davis
** Steph missed the playoffs with Klay

Sam Cassell and our other back-up guards going down with injuries in 2004 during the Western Conference Finals. Minnesota would have won the Championship that year had the injury not happened.

When Magic Johnson announced he had HIV. I was 3 years old at the time, but I've retroactively chosen to remember it like I was 7 or 8. It devastated me, but he's doing well now which makes me and my future self happy.
