Thoughts? I haven't read the article but when I heard Stephanie A. Smith's rant it made me cringe.

Good?

If you can't adapt to perform in modern sports, you shouldn't have a job in it. I don't care if you are White, Black, Hispanic, Male/Female, etc. We should be looking to get the best minds (both from instincts and from ability to innovate).

Obviously a touchy subject by the very nature of it, but I'm opposed to the notion that jobs are being "taken" from somebody who isn't acclimating themselves to the professional landscape.

Just because you can't do math doesn't mean others can't as well.

I've worked in a Big 3 Bank and some major financial services companies and the racial/ethnic makeup in particular jobs is interesting.

Analytics - Asian American/Chinese. You can hardly understand some immigrants with PHds but they can create quantative models that forecast the future of the economy :o

Software Development - Dominated by Indians. (Note, more diversity seems to exist in IT such as admin, infrastructure and such)

Business Side - White

Particular roles like PMs (Project Managers) have a ton of black women in roles. Also, I really see a lack of Black men in corporate jobs, you see the black women represented there but very different for black men.

Stay late and run into cleaning people - South American immigrants

Walk outside construction workers - Like 50% South American immigrants and a mix of black, white. Maybe a woman or two, no Asians!

Hope nobody is offended, it's just what I see.

Talk about an over generalization and assumptious.

every team use it in someway regard of race
why do you think GSW hack Roberson/Adams instead of Durant
because statistically they have the lowest FT% on Thunder team
they may not use super advance one but everyone use it

Wilbon brings up a lot of good points in the article.

Education is the key to overcoming this. Most immigrant communities emphasize education and are rewarded for this.

If you were referring to me, I am not sure how it's a generalization or assumption when:

You have an organization of 80 people in IT within a Corp and 70 of those people are Indian.

Or

You have an a team of 12 Quants (Analytics) and 10 of them are Asian American / Chinese.

Or

Every cleaning crew I've seen come in after hours in the building the past 7 years are South American immigrants
