Actually though the Lakers did remove Magic Johnson's Vice-Pres title but at the request of the Magic Johnson as you pointed out. I don't think any one is disputing that Magic asked for the action and removing his title does have to happen by the officers of the company. Either way it he was V.P. in title and did not have any powers or authority to act on behalf of the organization
