He wants to have a backcourt of Butler and LaVine. The offense can run through Butler so basically LaVine would be playing a SG.

That would be disappointing to me, not a good combination at wings.

Well, LaVine put up some pretty good games starting at the point last year. Butler and Wiggins would be the wings.

I love love lavine, but he is no PG. If he doesn't get moved in the deal, I think he just goes 6th man.

Well, the offense would basically run through Butler, he did very well as the playmaker when Rose was out. Butler and Rubio really aren't a good fit offensively.

His good stretches were after he got put into the starting lineup at the 2. LaVine can't play PG well at all.

Yeah they both aren't good shooters. I can see what you are saying though, LaVine can bring up the ball. Which is why this Butler to Minny is a little weird to me

With Rubio out and LaVine starting at PG...
CHA 20 pts 8 ast
IND 26 pts 4 ast
MEM 25 pts 3 ast
SAC 19 pts 4 ast 8 reb
LAC 18 pts 7 ast
GS 13 pts, 1 ast (25 min)

And once again, Butler would be the main distributor.

I cannot emphasize how terrible he is at Point-Guard, he makes everyone around him worse when he plays there.

Maybe, hence running the offense through Butler at SG.

Wolves won't trade Rubio and Dunn, it's one or the other.

From what's being said, Thibs was trying to send Rubio with Dunn, Chicago wanted LaVine and Dunn.

With a 1-5 record and a 1.69 AST/TO. That's not good.

That trade is a no brainer for the wolves. The Celtics couldn't beat that offer?

No question that Lavine can put up numbers when given the opportunities. Unfortunately, he has a tendency to make everyone around him worse as a pg.

You take Butler and send the bulls a thank you note that says PS, No take backs.

In some respects I can understand why Minny wouldn't make that deal. Butler is a good 7 years older than KAT and Wiggins. They could sneak in the playoffs but realistically they won't win a championship in the next 2 years even with Butler. This isn't a situation where a vet like LeBron is demanding immediate veteran help. I can understand why they would continue with their current rebuild and not rush the process. Age wise both Dunn and Lavine are closer to their current young core.

Now watch them go ahead and make the deal, ha!

The Vine isn't a building block. I would have taken Butler if I were Minny.

This trade wouldn't have made sense. Butler is not really a team guy, and he would have distracted from the development of Wiggins and Towns. Dunn is a much better fit.
