80's for me because that is what I 'grew up' with. I don't care about parity. I care about the Lakers winning championships.

For me it was 1999-2005, I lived in Chico at the time and was a huge Sacramento Kings fan. The rivalry between the Kings and Lakers was one of the best in all of sports. Unfortunately the fix was in for game 6 of the 2002 western conference finals and the Kings got completely screwed. That was still to this day the worst officiated game I've ever seen.

I am not going to try to convince you that your favourite is wrong. By definition your choice for such a question has to be right.
But I am amused at the citing Antoine Walker (or Shawn Bradley) as a critical player of the era.

I picked the Jordan era, wait for it, because of the parity. Sure the Bulls ran off 6 titles. But there were many other teams that were within stepping distance of them. The Bulls, Cavs, Knicks, Pacers, Pistons, Jazz, Celtics, Lakers, Blazers, Rockets, Suns, Sonics and others I'm probably forgetting all had a chance of winning it all. That's 12 title contenders right there, even first round playoff series were exciting at times.

I'd say mid-late 90's. Thats when my love for basketball was at an all-time high. I live in Chicago, so obvious answer with the Jordan era going on. The whole '96 rookie class was basically when I went from being a big Chicago Bulls fan to just a huge fan of the NBA in general.
I still have like 30 hours of NBA Inside Stuff (96-98) VHS tapes that I occasionally watch for nostalgic purposes. Jam Session, Rewind, etc. The good old days.

Shaq/Duncan era, i grew up with it. It seems weird finally rooting for players younger than you
Bucks tricked me into being a diehard in 2001, LeBron is the 2nd best player ever, and pizza is awesome.

Ok well the early 2000 Shaq era, whatever.
As a lakers fan Antonie Walker and Pierce was a fun duo to watch. So yeah and Bradley was a giant and also fun to watch... I can go on and on with players.
Rasheed Wallace, Stoudimire, Patterson , wells
Webber, Bibby, Peja
Wallace, billups, Hamilton
J. O'neal
Davis, Jackson, biederis
It's not only the big name guys that make an era great and fun.

Nice. The 90's were my introduction to basketball. A great time!

I hear ya. When the Sonic's left in 2008, til around 2010 ("the decision"), I kind of lost interest in the league. So, super teams really are good for viewership.

Mid 2000s. In large part because my team made the ECF 6 straight times. And in terms of the all stars/superstars at the time, that was probably the most enjoyable for me personally. Kobe, DWade, Brandon Roy, Gilbert Arenas, young Melo and young LeBron...

Names Bradley and not Nash for a reason the Mavs were exciting. Gets an and1.......

Re: What was your favorite NBA Era? Was Parity Important
For me there are two things about this talk in regards to parity.
One, for me I am not talking about parity where EVERY SINGLE TEAM has a shot at the title, for me parity means that there is a group of 5+ teams that have a legitimate chance at winning it all. That any of those teams are a serious threat to any other. It doesn't matter to me if one team ends up being victorious majority of that time but as long as (as someone said previously) it's not a forgone conclusion at the beginning of the season. This is why I feel that the jordan era was special, there were 9 different teams that played in the nba finals from 90-97. So far we have only the warriors and LeBron and co. How many people can seriously argue that this will change in the near future. A superteam will be interesting to watch for a year or two but if this goes on too long I feel this is the wrong polar end of the parity argument and just as bad for the league.
Second, this parity talk should be done in conjunction with the arguments about how bad talking is for the league. For all of the detractors of Henkie's plan, this is what he was ultimately trying to accomplish. If this will be the era of superteams, there will be multiple teams (as if there aren't already) that will roll out the full tank brigade. Enjoy watching that brand of basketball.

Yup that's why I laugh when I see laker fans complain, they've been spoiled with super teams forever.

Today's era. I don't care what anyone says. Today's era is the best quality of basketball the league has ever seen. Limit the ISO crap (still has a place, but not the entire offense). Ball movement, spacing, etc. Love it.
I think more parity would be cool, but it's whatever. I'm an all Minnesota sports fans. I haven't witnessed a championship in my life aside from the Twins in 91 when I still was in a crib. I've never been a bigger sports fan than I am now, so I've obviously still found interest in the league besides the success of my league.

I've loved all the eras.
My least favorite definitely falls more in the 99-2007 years, to be more specific between 97-2002, I feel the overall talent level was on the weak side.
