yup. Rich Paul trying to leverage when there are no other suitors for JR.
Same thing that happened with TT last year. Conflict of interest...

No Lebron fan but why? If he wanted to go elsewhere he wouldn't wait till the only teams that have cap-space, for his max salary, sucks. He already said he is staying and said he will leave to Rich Paul from here. Pretty much nothing to see here 1+1 (unless he signs a 4 year dea which would be surprising since he would get full bird rights next year)
After leaving CLE in the dust in 2010, and MIA in 2014, I imagine there's some consternation from CLE fans.
By being so nonchalant in not making a quick signing, it probably makes folks question his empathy/consideration for and devotion to the team, organization, and city. Even if it is purely financial reasons holding him back, I can understand why some would be upset by, perceptibly, toying with people's emotions. Lebron's history of passive aggressiveness is well-documented, so this just adds to things as a "great, what's he up to now?"

Why? He's said numerous times he's staying with the Cavs and his agent has quietly told other teams not to bother inquiring about his free agency. He'll be a Cavalier next year. There's zero chance he's going anywhere else.
This isnt about him actually being a threat to leave.
It's about him using that small possibility to assert power and authority over a franchise. Sign my buddies and fire coaches I dont like or I'll leave.
I don't care how good he is, or what success he brings. No player should hold that power over a franchise. And I don't know why he feels the need to flex his muscles in such a way.
Play hard, let your coach and GM do their job and let your game do the talking.
Honestly, it's douchey behaviour.

because everyone knows he's staying in Cleveland

A big offer could easily tempt him away

1) why do you think it would be 'easily'?
2) why don't you think Cleveland would make a competitive opposing offer?

Zenith wrote:LeBron James has yet to inform the Cleveland Cavaliers of when he'll sign his new deal with the team.
James is in no rush to agree upon terms as he continues to be a free agent for the third straight season.
Even though J.R. Smith and the Cavaliers have yet to agree upon a new deal, James' delay is not at all related.
Any real info out there? He's obviously staying in Cle, but figured he would have signed his new deal by now. Maybe he's contemplating taking a year off? His minutes/games played is pretty much unprecedented.

Lebron is a business man? That guy would have no idea how to run a business. He wouldn't show up for work for a week if things didn't go his way.
