Schroder and Howard don't mesh well, Dennis remains inconsistent and reckless as the starter while Howard insists on continuing that futile post-up game that didn't work while he was with the Rockets.
Old age devours Kyle Korver.
(if the aforementioned happens) Paul Millsap gets hurt trying to carry the weight of the load by himself. We miss the playoffs, but don't do well enough in the lottery to make it worth our while.

This. Plus Thabo getting hurt and having to rely too much on THJ for large minutes.

rondo doesn't fit with the roster
butler is worse playing next to two ball dominant guards
mirotic plays inconsistent enough (but not too badly) so re-signing him long-term becomes a frustratingly difficult decision
none of the young guys take a significant step forward
denzel valentine is clearly not an nba-caliber athlete
butler plays well enough despite all of this to carry the bulls to like 39 wins and the 11th pick
there's only like a...20% chance of this happening though...let's go bulls!
I'm going to pretend I didn't read that and hope that it doesn't happen. Go Bulls!

Rose plays really well but misses 30+ games but we still make the playoffs in the 8th seed and we resign him based on hope to a max deal that he never lives up to.
Honestly, the Knicks aren't in an awful position either way. We are developing KP around some veterans that have been in the big games before. If injuries happen, we shift our main focus to KP as our number 1 option, and go into the draft with our own pick to put next to him in a stacked draft and then have about 40 million in cap space next season.

Celtics get bumped in the first round again and Brooklyn is good enough to make the 2017 swap a low lottery pick.

Getting edged out of the 1st seed by the Spurs, only to be beaten by the 6th seeded Mavs lead by a bananas performance by Harrison Barnes, Bogut's rim protection, and the wily ways of Dirk.

Knicks suck but we get a lottery pick. So next season is a win/win if we make the playoffs or not.

Season starts out horribly.
Boogie demands a trade. We trade him to the Lakers for Randle and Clarkson.
All of our draft picks flop. Chriss turns out to be a stud.
We finish with the 4th worst record but win the lottery. Pick swaps to Philly.
Embiid wins ROY and Philly makes the playoffs. We draft 16th.
Philly drafts Josh Jackson number one overall who ends up being a more durable version of T-Mac.
I kill myself.
