I hope people don't think this rude as I absolutely love Jokic and have been watching all Denver games for the last two months, but I think the amazing thing is he looks and runs exactly like Private Pyle from Full Metal Jacket.

He kind of lurches forward with vacant eyes and his head to the side, his mouth hanging open. Yet, he's the best offensive center in the league. A basketball genius. So weird.

Does anyone at this point take the Lakers' young core over Denvers'?

Russell
Ingram
Randle

vs.

Murray
Hernangomez
Jokic

I'm probably taking Denver's all day. Incredible drafting by them.

Call me crazy but I take Jokic alone over Dlo, Ingram, and Randle.

Back to the original question, he's Denver's franchise guy. Better passer than anyone on the roster and not even close.

Saw flashes of this in the Rio Olympics when he had a monster game against Team USA.

Don't forget Gary Harris who was also picked later in the first round. That cat is solid when he isn't hurt.

Denver should be a force soon and I can't wait. Their philosophy is screw it...we're not all-world defenders so we'll just try and outgun you every night. So fun to watch,

Just wanted to say how much fun it's been, as a Nuggets fan, to see this thread evolve over the last two months.

If I'm ever having a bad day, I just open up this thread and remind myself that Nikola Jokic is a Denver Nugget. Works every time.

If Ainge traded all of our future assets for Jokic, I wouldn't even be mad. This guy would also be an amazing fit with our team too. Imagine a front-court of Horford and Jokic... passes from both big men all game.

Amazing player, can't wait to see more of him in his prime.

Whenever I see him play I always remind myself "he is this good and he is still just 21 and doesn't even really have an NBA body yet", we are extremely lucky to have him in Denver. I really liked his chemistry with Hernangomez tonight also, should be interesting to see if that develops into a potent duo in the future.

Vlade Divac was the first name that came to mind for me when watching Jokic.

Jeez, has to be indredibly fun being a denver fan right now, that guy is off the charts. Hope Denver organisation will do a good job building the right team around him.

Him and Giannis, and KP are really freaks.

I would love to have Jokic on my team but he is this hot name in NBA that might get exposed when the defenses prepare for him next year. So far so good, solid drafting Denver!

draft

2016- Ingram 2nd pick (WS/48= -0.009) - Zubac 32th pick (WS/48= 0.086)
2015- Russell 2nd pick (WS/48= 0.041) - Nance Jr 27th pick (WS/48= 0.127)
2014- Randle 7th pick (WS/48= 0.066)

vs.

2016- Murray 7th pick (WS/48= 0.033) / Juancho 15th pick (WS/48= 0.128)
2015- Mudiay 7th pick (WS/48= -0.005)
2014- Harris 19th pick (WS/48= 0.103) / Jokic 41th pick (WS/48= 0.236)

I always say that it's more important scouting than tanking.

Since 15 dec when Malone has decided to put it back at starting C:

26 Games (21 DD, 2 TD)
15W-11L

29.3 mpg, 20.8 ppg (0.609 FG%, 0.418 3P%) , 10.2 reb, 5.5 ast, 0.673 ts%, 0.262 usg%

If one player that put 20+/10+/5+ with ts% 0.65+ over 2 months, leading a winning record in the same span for a team predicted at the bottom of the Conference, is not a franchise player for that team I don't know what is a "franchise player"

perfect example of how unneccesary the tanking is most of the time. you are selecting a player from 41th, he is just 21 and and he is capable of making triple double most of the games and he is becoming your franchise player.

it is time for nuggets to build around jokic and make some moves. who is willing to stay and be a part of the future of the team? faried? chandler? gallinari? if not, trade them away for 2017 and 2018 first rounders and maybe useful role players or those who are in need of a change of team. i am very much curious as to what kind of actions nuggets will take before the 2017-2018 season.

We are not worthy, the guy is a savant. It doesn't make sense how easy the game looks to him.

This thread was ahead of its time. Touche OP for recognizing Jokic talent before everyone else. First time I saw the title of this thread, I was skeptical, now Jokic looks like he could be MVP candidate in the future to me. Only 21 years old, are you nuts?
