Consolidated LeBron GOAT discussion thread

Nick Wright backs up his concept of why Lebron James is the GOAT. Does he give enough evidence or does his evidence have gaping flaws?

It's pretty close. Then again I don't have Jordan on the same pedestal that some do.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

It's a worthy debate at this point but I currently have him 2nd to MJ. Skip Bayless has Bron ranked 245th

I love the opinions of guys that look like they couldn't even shoot a free throw.

Everyone has their opinion and its a never ending debate. I put most stock in what the players say and I've heard more players say MJ is the GOAT more than any other player.

For most of his career, LeBron feasted in the East where it was always a cakewalk to the finals.

He put it upon himself to chase Jordan. Maybe if he wins against the Warriors this season. He just has to win this season if he wants to rise above Jordan. And I really don't buy what they say that the "monkey" is off his back. He still has a lot of work to do and Golden State right now is his proverbial Everest that just might kill him, so to speak. He might have reached the peak last season, but he still has to get down safely.

Who is Nick Wright?

That's not true.Pistons were a far better team than the Cavs in 2007.Boston was a solid rival and it took 7 games in 2012.Indiana was really good in 2013,7 games needed again.Even Hawks at 2015 was a 60 win team with 4 all-stars at the time and Cavs didn't have Kevin Love.
How's that "always a cakewalk"?

During MJ's reign, The East was the dominant conference. LeBron's reign, The West is the dominant conference.

I brought facts that prove that 'it was not always a cakewalk'.You didn't.You just changed the subject.

Bulls were dominant. Not "the conference".Rockets won both titles against Knicks and Orlando.

He's right, LeBron is better. But GOAT is a career title. So it's too early to tell.

I heard Jeff Van Gundy saying that for anyone he's seen, he'd take Jordan for a single game, with LeBron right behind him.

He also said that if LeBron has another 2-3 years at this level, it will be difficult to say he hasn't had the greatest career ever.

I tend to agree with that.

A Lebron stan thinks that Lebron is the best. Wow what a hot take!

You want answers to fit your narrative. So let me put it this way......since the demise of KG led Celtics, the East is a cakewalk. LeBron joined forces with Wade's team, the Heat, consolidating the talent depleted East to 1 team. Then the Heat broke up when Lebron left, Wade & Bosh struggled to play healthy. Lebron went to Cleveland, the team went way over the salary cap to build another super team.

The East is a cakewalk. Please do not go back when the East was still dominated by the Pistons, Celtics and Lebron was still young. I am talking about in their prime years.

Lebron played in an era facing competition not as good as when the Bulls ruled the East.

GOAT ? MJ is the GOAT.
