It's a silly comparison.

Besides, everybody knows that Trump is this centuries Hitler.

Hitler/nazis these days are short for "terrible leader(s)", so I suspect he didn't literally mant that Erdogan is exactly like Hitler

Lenin/Stalin/bolsheviks get no respect

I did not address the issue you guys are talking about.

Though, Erdoğan is obviously not Hitler. That's a lousy comparison. I'd say he has more in common with Saddam Hussein.

They didn't do this because they miss him or to sit down and have tea. They did this because they see him as a traitor and a terrorist. They will kill him if he goes back. Free my boy Enes!

Some of you guys must have not seen what his security did to American protesters in America. They kicked a woman in the face who was on the ground. They don't give a damn.

I hate him more than just about any player I've ever hated in NBA history, but I don't wish for him to be caught up in some political crap (unless he was like say actively involved in a coup or something, and I doubt that's the case). I hope he can go back to OKC and keep sucking it up on the defensive end.

Still not Hitler. Don't think anyone likes Erdogan but please catch up on the stats on how many people died under him and against him.

The concept that I don't think a lot of people understand is that Hitler was wildly popular in his country for promoting a nationalist "my country first" agenda, playing heavily on people's racial prejudices, setting up a strong authoritarian government, and making outlandish claims about his country's superiority to all others.

That's how Hitler came to power and how the Nazi regime justified what eventually became genocide, but all of those things were wrong and should have been opposed way before the killing began. And the best way to prevent another Holocaust is to oppose dangerous, dictatorial type of governments before they begin to start wars or commit mass murder.

I'm guessing his passport was cancelled very recently by Turkish authorities just to mess with him.

So he's not being held in jail and no one is sending him to Turkey against his will, although he does have to straighten out some paper work before returning to the US.

Ok. Less of a big deal now. Like I don't think it's good that he can't go back to Turkey, but it's not like they are looking to arrest him and extradite him or anything.

I agree he is a horrible person and crazy leader. But I still have to give Kim Jung Un the lead as the worst and craziest dictator out there right now. There is an American college kid currently spending a 15 year hard labor prison sentence for taking a poster from his hotel room. I think we can all agree we have some horrible nut jobs in the world with way too much power.

Or how about the current nutjob in the Philippines, who is just executing thousands without any sort of due process.

Of course they are all drug dealers/users (sure, all of them, 100%, I'm sure, just absolutely sure that's the case) so no big deal.

Had no idea. I slipped into a coma last year when the Warriors were up 3-1. Didn't get to see them win their back to back championship.

Well I'm from Turkey myself. Gülenism is cult like, they think touching Gülen gives you holy blessing and stuff.

I'm Turkish citizen too and can confirm this, gulenists are some crazy people and their "godfather' Fethullah Gulen is a bloody bastard

Yeah man, you're right that erdogan and Gulen had strong ties just 4-5 years ago (we secular Turkish people started to warn back then how dangerous of a movement the gulenists are and shouldn't be supported as intensively as erdogans akp did up until 2013/14)

If his passport is cancelled and consequently his Turkish citizenship stripped, he'd have to find political asylum somewhere and get that passport. I think unless these things are massively expedited, he'd spend a week or two at some airport terminal hotel before his lawyers hook him up with something.
