Tim Frazier is a million times better than that scrub Brandon Jennings. Huge upgrade.

Is he a good defender? Looking at his numbers last year, very below average. Career 32% 3 point shooter.

I'd bet my life savings he's a better defender than whoever goes 52, if it's a guard.

Why?

I'm not about to compare Tim to Jennings lol.

But speaking of just Tim, he is a very limited shooter and complete liability on defense. He was 54th amongst PG's in real plus minus, which is right where I would put him. One of the worst backup PG's in the league, but a qualified second string player.

What he does well is he plays hard, pushes the ball and makes good decisions. Because he is a little guy and d league MVP, he tends to be a fan favorite.

Literally one of the worst defenders I've ever seen. He really can't guard anyone.

He had a very poor year.

This was to clear cap.

Tim Frazier is not good. I've seen every Pelicans game for years. His D is atrocious.

Yeah, I was looking at this from the Pels POV. You guys can draft a decent prospect at 52 in this draft. Even if it doesn't pan out, this guy seems completely replaceable and not a loss at all.

Have you seen Brandon Jennings play defense? Pass the ball? Rebound? Shoot? :wizard:

Brandon Jennings finished three spots above Tim Frazier in defensive real plus minus. Just for perspective, Tim was a worse defender.

I recall Frazier turning heads in fantasy bball last year as a waiver pickup, other than that don't know much about this guy other than seeing this earlier in the season

Idk how much better or worse he is than Jennings. Can't possibly be worse than Trey Burke though I'd be willing to bet that. There are players in China and Israel right now who are better than Burke.

He really can't do those things either. He can push pace. That's about it.

Frazier's salary is what? $2 million? A 2nd rounder will cost around $500,000. So that should likely save the Pelicans about $1.5 mill to use in another trade or for a signing.

Not too shabby for a replaceable player.

Hell, they can sign a higher-end guy from the D/G League for another $500,000 and possibly get the same production.

They could easily be looking at $1 million saved for allocation elsewhere (it's not much, but who knows what else is up their sleeves so early in the offseason).

Aren't second rounders completely non guaranteed tho?

Funnily enough the total cap projection just went down 2 mil from 101 to 99mil

For real, what in the hell are they doing?

I would be shocked if Cousins re-signs.
