Lamar could have been a huge superstar. On the Lakers he showed many flashes of absolute athletic brilliance. Long like Durant and not really high flying but more ballet like gliding moves.

He was wonderful to watch and my wife (who doesn't know too much about bball) said she thinks he is the most athletically gifted of the championship teams. "Why doesn't he do this stuff more?" Is what she would say about him.

It's great that he was brave enough to put all of this information out there about himself - because it can help raise awareness about addiction and also show others who are going through it that they are not alone in their pain. Addiction is a pretty widespread problem and can affect anyone. It's good to remove the stigma of "Addict = Bad Guy".

imagine him being sober and focused on the game...he was a lethal, versatile player...sad that he'll be overlooked when people discuss versatile players like KG and Lebron...Odom had the talent to be in those conversations.

Lebron, Giannis, Ben Simmons...forwards that play like point guards...all of them came after Lamar, the guy who started it that trend after Magic.
When this account gets more "And1"s than posts written ...then my life will be complete. And maybe it will be the right time to hang it up. (Achieved on 2017-2018 season)...but still here.

I love that line and approach to self-care.

My first NBA game, Blazers v. Clippers, November 3rd, 1999. Odom. Was so young and a great talent. Had 23 points that night per basketball reference. Sad to see the way life has taken him, especially for someone that appears so likeable. I wish him the best moving forward and glad he has support.

My favorite game from Odom was against Lebron and the Cavs. 28 points and 17 rebounds. Absolutely handed it to them.

The part that struck me was being in a random motel room with some random girl. It's just... about as unglamarous as you can get.

It's eating instant mac and cheese.

Happy for Odom. Reading this just reaffirms why I've never done coke. I think I'd like it too much. I've seen people go through similar downward spirals IRL. Odom is lucky as hell.

I couldn't hold back a few tears. I know the pain of losing a child. It stays with you forever. Doesn't go away with time.

I hope he can find some peace and normalcy in his life.

On a side note. Many transient people are addicts. Don't judge them for asking for money to get high. Addiction is a horrible thing.

I always really like Lamar. Addiction is such a bitch. It completely takes over your life. Only a lucky few make it out and back.

Prayers for you Lamar

He would've been a better version of Dray imo.

Very very nice read.

As a Lakers fan, it does give me a perspective of how the CP3 trade ruined the relationship between him and the Lakers.

Lamar seemed to be a universally liked player. All the best to him, and his demons.

Also, for all the **** khloe kardashian is getting, at least shes there when Odom needed her.
